It is here. It is finally here. The first week (October 18 to 23) of the new NBA season finally arrived. It has been four long months since the Golden State Warriors won the title by beating the Boston Celtics, and everyone is ready for a fresh start. Now comes the best part, where every win and every loss will start affecting the teams—time to check what is in store for us in the next several days.

October 18: Boston Celtics versus Philadelphia 76ers
This is the first game of the season, and everyone is eager to see how the Sixers will fair against the Celtics, who will be without the coach who brought them to last season’s NBA Finals. The suspended Ime Udoka will be one of the talking points in this game, but fans should focus their attention on the stars on the court instead. Joel Embiid, James Harden, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown will try hard to ensure their respective teams get off to a good start.
October 18: Golden State Warriors versus Los Angeles Lakers
It is Ring Night in San Francisco as fans in the arena get to witness the Warriors receive their championship rings. Fans cannot relax, though, because the Lakers, the visiting team, are planning to spoil the night for the Warriors and their faithful followers, who will definitely be in a celebratory mood. Will the Warriors have one of those championship hangovers and end up losing this game?
October 19: Brooklyn Nets versus New Orleans Pelicans
It will be a “welcome back to the NBA” type of night in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Two stars will be returning to action after missing all of last season. Zion Williamson of the Pelicans and Ben Simmons of the Nets hope to be healthy for the upcoming season. Nothing would please hoop fans more than to see these two players pick up where they left off.
October 20: Los Angeles Lakers versus Los Angeles Clippers
Now that both squads are healthy, will we see a revival of some sort when it comes to the “Battle of L.A.” rivalry? Remember, fans had to let this one go because both teams were never really healthy every time they met. All eyes will be on the more popular Lakers for this one because of the addition of Patrick Beverley. An emotional Beverley, who is a former Clipper, and a dramatic Russell Westbrook playing in the same team is something that even non-fans will find interesting to watch.
October 21: Minnesota Timberwolves versus Utah Jazz
After nine seasons with the Jazz, Rudy Gobert was traded to the Timberwolves. As a result, Gobert will now have to face his former team for the first time since being traded almost four months ago. The new-look Jazz will be visiting the Target Center in Minneapolis this early in the season to meet their former defensive anchor. Another reunion in the works here is for Malik Beasley. Beasley used to play for the Timberwolves and could be highly motivated when he faces his former team.
