NBA DFS: Fave Five for January 30th, 2020

Josh Livi | January 30th, 2020

We had a monster night last night! Almost all of our picks hit, and that’s what we want! Full slate tonight so let’s get to it!

Guard: Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors (DK-$7,700) (FD-$7,500)

VanVleet is significantly underpriced here. Dude is averaging 38 fantasy points per game. He gets a cupcake matchup against Collin Sexton and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Since returning from a two-week absence, VanVleet has been balling! He’s been averaging 21.8 points per game. He’s also scored above 40 fantasy points per game, in two of his last four games. I see him shredding the pathetic Cavaliers tonight en-route to a monster performance.

Forward: Michael Porter Jr, Denver Nuggets (DK-$5,700 (FD -$5,300)

MPJ has been a regular on my Fave Five list! Kid’s been balling as of late. MPJ is playing at a very high level coming off the bench. He’s the anchor of the second unit. He’s hit double-digit points in seven straight games and has grabbed eight or more rebounds in six straight games. The kid is a stud. He is only averaging 15.6 fantasy points per game, but he’s been on a tear as of late. Look for him to keep up the momentum tonight against the Utah Jazz in what should be a fun, high scoring game. HE’S MY LOCK OF THE NIGHT!

Power Forward: John Collins, Atlanta Hawks (DK-$7,800) (FD-$7,500)

This is the first time I have Collins on my Fave Five list. You might think with Pascal Siakam the top power forward on the board, why not spend on him? My main concern there is Toronto will probably blow out the Cavaliers and he’ll rest down the stretch. Collins gets a matchup against a banged-up Joel Embiid. Collins has been impressive as of late, averaging 38 fantasy points per game. He’s coming off a game where he scored 28 points, 12 rebounds, and added in a block. Expect him to keep up the momentum tonight in what should be an exciting game!

Center: Montrezl Harrell, Los Angeles Clippers (DK-$6,900) (FD-$6,600)

There’s a lot of star power at the center position. I am not spending that much money on a guy like Nikola Jokic or Embiid. Harrell here gets a cupcake matchup against the Sacramento Kings. He has been doing his thing recently. Averaging 33.8 fantasy points per game. Harrell is coming off a monster performance where he scored 19 points, five rebounds, and three blocks. The matchup is ideal for a guy like Harrell who should have his way with the Kings’ big men. He’s definitely my sleeper pick of the night.

Util: De’Andre Hunter, Atlanta Hawks (DK-$4,700) (FD-$4,400)

Anyone ever heard of him? Kid’s been on fire as of late. Hunter is coming off a game where he dropped 25 points on 8-11 shooting. He has now reached double figures in four of his last five games. His fantasy points have slowly been on the rise and I expect that to continue tonight. Hunter could surprise a lot of people, and if he can get hot early, there is no stopping him. He can fill up the stat sheet in a hurry. He is definitely a punt play tonight!

Good Luck everyone! Hope you enjoy this edition of Livi’s Fave Five!
