NBA DFS Fave Five: February 6th, 2020

Josh Livi | February 6th, 2020

Happy trade deadline day everyone!! The NBA trade deadline is at 3:00pm. But, have no fear, our regularly scheduled program will go on as usual, and I’ll give you guys the top five plays of the night! Please keep in mind that my picks are subject to change if a trade involving that specific player happens. Good Luck everyone, and let’s win some big money!!

Guard: Elfrid Payton, New York Knicks (DK-$7,300) (FD-$6,700)

Payton is coming off his best game as a Knick. Putting up a massive triple-double. He put up 17 points 15 assists and 11 rebounds. Payton is quietly averaging 28.2 fantasy points per game. I like the matchup tonight against Markelle Fultz and the Orlando Magic. I would like to see Payton go for another triple-double tonight. He is definitely my LOCK of the night.

Forward: Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic (DK-$5,600) (FD-$5,200)

Every person loves playing against a specific team. Fournier loves playing against the Knicks. Tonight, his wish comes true. Gets the matchup he wanted. Fournier is known to destroy the Knicks every time they play. Besides the beautiful matchup, he’s been averaging 18.7 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game. Good for an average of 29.7 fantasy points. I think he flirts with a double-double tonight against a pretty nonexistent Knicks defense. He is my SLEEPER of the night.

Power Forward: Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers (DK-$9,700) (FD-$9,800)

The reason I have AD here is pretty simple. Yes, he’s incredibly talented. Yes, he is often injured, but when he’s on the court, he’s a beast. Yesterday, the Houston Rockets traded away star center, Clint Capela, leaving a 6’5 P.J. Tucker as the Rockets center. AD tonight is going to absolutely feast against Tucker. Besides the drastic height difference in the matchup tonight, the Rockets have been giving up 31.7 fantasy points to big men. I expect AD to go off tonight for around 55-60 fantasy points. (Hopefully, he stays on the court and doesn’t get hurt).

Center: Hassan Whiteside, Portland Trail Blazers (DK-$8,000) (FD-$8,700)

Whiteside is a much better play on DraftKings than he is on FanDuel tonight. He gets a matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are giving up an eye-popping 35.7 fantasy points to opposing centers. He should have his way tonight to make up for the lackluster performance a few nights ago against the stingy Denver Nuggets. Whiteside is averaging 42.8 fantasy points per game and that’s where I believe he will finish tonight. Get him in your lineup and watch him put on a show.

Util: Terrence Ross, Orlando Magic (DK-$5,00) (FD-$4,500)

As mentioned above, some players enjoy facing other teams. Just like Fournier, Ross too enjoys beating up on the Knicks. He’s my pick here at the Util position. Besides the matchup, he’s coming off a monster game where he dropped 18 points against a very good Celtics defense. Ross is averaging 22 fantasy points on the year and I believe he will finish closer to 30 fantasy points tonight. The Knicks can’t stop anyone, and they certainly won’t be able to contain both Ross and Fournier. Both make for excellent plays.

That does it for this edition of Livi’s Fave Five! Please remember, these players are subject to change because of the 3pm trade deadline. Good luck and let’s win some money together.
