NBA Bubble: That Awkward Moment (Part 1)

We won’t know what it’s like to face your former team or teammate. We can only assume that it might be… awkward!

The NBA released their Seeding Games Schedule and every game could feature at least 1 person who’ll be having an awkward moment.

Here’s a breakdown of the first 8 days of seeding games (July 30 to August 6):

JULY 30

Utah vs. New Orleans: Derrick Favors just played for Utah last season.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Assistant coach Tyronn Lue and Ivica Zubac were former Lakers. Lou Williams, another former Laker, will be sidelined during this game.

JULY 31

Orlando vs. Brooklyn:  Jacque Vaughn used to coach the Orlando Magic.

Memphis vs. Portland: Anthony Tolliver‘s season began in Portland and he ended up in Memphis before the restart.

Phoenix vs. Washington: Kelly Oubre Jr. played for the Washington Wizards last year.

Boston vs. Milwaukee: Assistant coach Vin Baker used to play for the Boston Celtics.

Sacramento vs. San Antonio: Rudy Gay had a 3-year stint with the Sacramento Kings.

Houston vs. Dallas: Tyson Chandler won a title with the Dallas Mavericks.

AUGUST 1

Miami vs. Denver: Andre Iguodala‘s career included a stop in Denver.

Utah vs. Oklahoma City: Darius Bazley (Oklahoma City Thunder) will face the team that drafted him.

New Orleans vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Alvin Gentry was the head coach of the Clippers for almost 3 seasons.

Philadelphia vs. Indiana: T.J. McConnell started his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Toronto: Danny Green won a ring for the Toronto Raptors last year.

AUGUST 2

Washington vs. Brooklyn: Shabazz Napier was with the Brooklyn Nets last season.

Portland vs. Boston: Enes Kanter was with Portland before joining Boston.

San Antonio vs. Memphis: Rudy Gay spent the first 6 seasons of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Sacramento vs. Orlando: DaQuan Jeffries was released by the Orlando Magic less than a year ago and ended up in Sacramento.

Milwaukee vs. Houston: Luc Mbah a Moute was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Dallas vs. Phoenix: Seth Curry, currently with Dallas, will meet his former team twice.

AUGUST 3

Toronto vs. Miami: Kyle Lowry (Toronto) will be playing against Goran Dragic (Miami). They were teammates playing for the Houston Rockets back in 2011.

Denver vs. Oklahoma City: Jerami Grant had a 3-year stint for Oklahoma City.

Indiana vs. Washington: Ian Mahinmi‘s career included a stop in Indiana.

Memphis vs. New Orleans: Grayson Allen (Memphis) will be playing against Brandon Ingram (New Orleans). They were teammates playing for the Duke Blue Devils.

San Antonio vs. Philadelphia: Brett Brown used to be an assistant coach for San Antonio.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah: Ed Davis and Jordan Clarkson used to run the court for the Lakers.

AUGUST 4

Brooklyn vs. Milwaukee: Brook Lopez once played for the Brooklyn Nets.

Dallas vs. Sacramento: Harrison Barnes used to play for Dallas

Phoenix vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Marcus Morris used to suit up for the Phoenix Suns.

Orlando vs. Indiana: Victor Oladipo was drafted by Orlando.

Boston vs. Miami: Kelly Olynyk used to play for the Celtics.

Houston vs. Portland: Carmelo Anthony played ten games for the Rockets.

AUGUST 5

Memphis vs. Utah: Mike Conley played 12 years in Memphis.

Philadelphia vs. Washington: Mike Scott played for Washington two seasons ago.

Denver vs. San Antonio: Trey Lyles (injured San Antonio player) will be rooting against his former team.

Oklahoma City vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Dion Waiters played for the Oklahoma City Thunder 5 years ago.

Toronto vs. Orlando: Serge Ibaka (Raptors) and Terrence Ross (Magic) were traded for each other.

Brooklyn vs. Boston: Kyrie Irving (injured Brooklyn player) will be rooting against his former team.

AUGUST 6

New Orleans vs. Sacramento: Buddy Hield is a former New Orleans Pelican.

Miami vs. Milwaukee: Miami assistant coach Malik Allen suited up for the Milwaukee Bucks during his playing days.

Indiana vs. Phoenix: T.J. Warren played for Phoenix last season.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas: Boban Marjanovic was a fan favorite when he played for the Clippers.

Portland vs. Denver: Mason Plumlee and Will Barton are former Portland Trail Blazers.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston: Dwight Howard used to play for Houston while Tyson Chandler once played for the Lakers.
