NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS: Bristol Cheddar’s 300

Dale Money and Brandon Braasch | June 1st, 2020

The Xfinity Series next stop is Bristol Motor Speedway in the thunder valley. The race was originally scheduled for Saturday but due to rain in Charlotte, it is now Monday night. This will be the third Xfinity race since returning to action. Chase Briscoe won the first race at Darlington and Kyle Busch won the second race at Charlotte.

Dale and I have nailed almost all of our picks last week. We had Kyle Busch and Daniel Hemric, who finished first and second. Busch scored 113 points and Hemric scored 53.5. Alex Labbe put together a great run starting from the back scoring 49 fantasy points. Noah Gragson had a solid run finishing 11th and scoring 36.5 points. Garrett Smithley who was my value driver only scored six points after getting caught up in a wreck. Now enough about last week let’s jump right into thunder valley with our drivers for this week’s Xfinity Series race.

High Salary

A.J. Allmendinger ($11,000 DK)

Very steep price for a driver that has not run a race in Xfinity this season, but given his starting position and talent recognition I understand it. Allmendinger ran just five Xfinity races last year but certainly improved over the limited opportunities. He would start the season off with two DNF’s, but over the next three events, Dinger captured both a third-place finish at Mid-Ohio and a victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Allmendinger is ready to start in the 27th position at Bristol and should be able to quickly move himself up in the order. Also, consider in four of those five races, he led 10 or more laps and in three of those races led 20 or more. Opportunities could be bound for plenty of extra points, not just through place differential but possible laps led.

Mid Range

Brandon Jones ($9,100 DK)

Jones has had some great runs at Bristol for Joe Gibbs Racing. In his last four races, he has finished in the top 15 in three of the four races. He has shown the ability to lead some laps and even won stage one last August. He will be starting on the front row in second place Monday night. The laps go by so fast at Bristol so Jones could easily rack up a lot of laps led early on in the race. Look for Jones to lead some laps and contend for the win Monday night.

Alex Labbe ($8.900 DK)

Having selected Labbe as my value play last Monday at Charlotte, he would prove to be an absolute steal. Starting in the 37th position, Labbe continued to chip away as he was able to avoid a lot of the mishaps late in the race. By the end of it, he would finish with a 16th place position, earning himself 21 bonus points through place differential.

Labbe is currently 14th in the point standings, and will be slated to start in the 32nd position on Monday. In his past three races at Bristol in the Xfinity Series, he has been relatively decent. While Labbe did finish with a 31st place finish a year ago due to a mechanical issue, he would rack up an 11th and 23rd place result in the previous two showings respectively. He has an 87.3% laps completed record, and an average finish of 17.7. With Bristol being the wreck fest it always has been, Labbe just needs to keep his nose clean. If he can just do that, I see another repeat performance of last week.

Value

Myatt Snider ($7,000 DK)

Snider has had some very solid runs this year. In four out of six races this year, he has finished in the top 16. Despite that, he is still very cheap. A big reason for that is because he has had some brutal weeks for fantasy. He has scored negative ten plus in two races. That being said, he has also shown the ability to score 40 plus. He will be starting 22nd which will be the furthest back he has started a race this year. That leaves him plenty of opportunity for place differential and at his price, he is too good to pass up.
