Monday Night Football DFS Week Two: Browns vs Jets

Well week two was not as predictable as week one. The injury bug has officially hit. Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, and the Philadelphia Eagles’ receiving core were banged on Sunday. Even in this game, the New York Jets will be without Sam Darnold. Let’s see who the best players are in a potentially ugly Monday night game.

MVP Slot (Fanduel)

Nick Chubb (10,000 DK, 13,000 FD)

The Jets defense was pretty good against the Buffalo Bills rushing attack last week. Other than Devin Singletary, who had four carries for 70 yards., they held Frank Gore in check. However, they are missing some key players on defense. C.J. Mosley and Quinnen Williams have both already been ruled out for tonight’s game. These players were a big reason why they can stop the run. Chubb will also get plenty of carries as the Browns will be looking to run out the clock late in a blow out game. This makes him a great candidate to get a lot of points in the MVP slot but on Draftkings he’s a little too expensive as the captain because there’s not a lot of great cheap values in this game.

Captain Slot (Draftkings)

Robby Anderson (Captain 10,500 DK Captain, 7,000 DK, 9,000 FD)

The Jets are going to end up throwing the ball a lot in this game. If Anderson can sneak by this Browns secondary he could be a great flex play. Last week against the Tennessee Titans, A.J. Brown was able to do just that grabbing three catches for 100 yards. With a potentially ugly day on offense for the Jets, Anderson might be the only bright spot because of his big play-ability. He would save you a lot of money in your captain slot allowing you to afford the expensive players like Chubb and Odell Beckham Jr.

Flex Spots

Odell Beckham Jr. (11,800 DK, 14,000 FD)

Speaking of OBJ. The Browns are going to look to exploit a bad Jets secondary. Baker Mayfield and Beckham didn’t get off to the start everyone was expecting last week. This week will be different. They will put up a lot of points against a Jets defense that gave up 123 yards to John Brown last week.

Baker Mayfield (11,200 DK, 15,000 FD)

Last week after Mosley got hurt the Bills were able to come back and beat the Jets. Josh Allen threw for 254 yards and a majority of those yards came after Mosley left the game. Baker didn’t play well last week only scoring 12.4 Fanduel points. This will be a good rebound game for him against a vulnerable Jets defense.

Browns D/ST (5,400 DK only)

I don’t really see any way that the Jets offense doesn’t give up fantasy points to the Browns defense. Trevor Siemian has thrown 24 interceptions in the last two years despite starting just 24 games. If the Browns can contain Le’Veon Bell then they will be well on their way to a great fantasy night.

Other targets: David Njoku and Jamison Crowder.

Game Predictions

This game is gonna pretty ugly if you’re a Jets fan. The Browns have the offensive firepower to put up a lot of points. If the Browns offensive line can stay discipline then the Jets really have no chance in this game. I predict the final score to be 35-10, Browns win handily.
