Monday Night Football DFS Week Four: Bengals vs Steelers

Brandon Braasch | September 30th, 2019

In this week’s Monday Night Football game, we get a historical divisional matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both of these teams can not stand each other. With both teams looking for their first win of the year, this will be a tough hard fought game. Here are some tips on which players I like in this matchup.

DK Captain and FD MVP

James Conner (15,900 DK captain, 10,600 DK, and 12,000 FD)

This year has not been great for Conner. He has only 97 rushing yards through three games. This is the week Conner finally breaks through. He is going up against the Bengals defense, which has allowed 506 rushing yards in their three games. Conner should be able to have his way and run all over this defense.

Flex Players

Joe Mixon (8,800 DK and 12,500 FD)

Mixon has faced three very good run defenses this year and has struggled to get anything going on the ground. This game has the potential to be a defensive battle with both teams trying to establish the run. He is coming in with a little momentum after finding the end zone last week. Look for Mixon to have a breakout game.

Andy Dalton (9,800 DK and 15,000 FD)

Dalton has been able to put up yards every week. Putting up 18+ fantasy points in all three games. Zac Taylor has been forced to let Dalton throw the ball 36+ times per game all year. If the Steelers are able to jump out to a lead, he will be throwing the ball a lot allowing him to rack up a good amount of fantasy points.

Tyler Eifert (5,200 DK and 7,500 FD)

This is a bit of a risky play but that is what you have to do in these showdown contests. Eifert has only been able to reach the end zone once this year. The Steelers defense allowed Will Dissly to score two touchdowns in week two. If Eifert can find the end zone, then he can be a great value play in a slate where there aren’t many good cheap options.

Chris Boswell (3,600 DK and 10,000 FD)

Kickers are never going to put up ridiculous numbers. The thing is though, they do not have to in showdown contests. If they can get a couple of field goals, they can easily put up double digits. In the last two games, Boswell was able to kick two field goals and score nine fantasy points. With Mason Rudolph making only his second career start, look for the Steelers to struggle in the red zone forcing them to kick field goals.

Game Predictions

This game will be a scrappy fight to the end. Almost every year the Bengals and Steelers play in tight games. This will be another hard-hitting grind it out battle. Touchdowns will be scarce, but with both running backs looking to bounce back, they will be the best players in this game. Final score 20-17 with the Steelers kicking a late field goal to secure the victory.
