Monday Night Football DFS Week Eight: Dolphins vs Steelers

Brandon Braasch | October 28th, 2019

This Monday Night game does not really have much excitement in terms of teams making the playoffs. The Pittsburg Steelers could still go on a run and make the playoffs but it’s a long shot. The Miami Dolphins, however, are winless on the season. That does not mean there is not still money to be won and fantasy players still playing. Here are my best players in this potentially ugly Monday Night contest.

DraftKings Captain & FanDuel MVP

Mark Walton (9,000 DK Captain, 6,000 DK, and 10,500 FD)

Kenyan Drake got traded to the Arizona Cardinals. That makes Walton and Kalen Ballage the running backs for the Miami Dolphins. Walton has slowly started to get more and more touches even when Drake was in the picture. Ballage has only has three receptions all season. You can expect Walton to be the running back in passing situations. I expect the Dolphins to be throwing a lot of the game so Walton should receive a lot of touches.

Flex Players

JuJu Smith-Schuster (10,600 DK and 13,000 FD)

JuJu has not performed well all year. He has had a couple of games where he has been good. He also has had a couple of games where he basically just disappeared. He had a touchdown with Mason Rudolph at quarterback against the Baltimore Ravens. Look for JuJu to get it going in primetime and flash his speed.

Mason Rudolph (10,800 DK and 14,000 FD)

Rudolph used the bye week to help recover from his concussion. He returns this week and gets a great matchup. I do not expect the Steelers to get a huge lead and abandon the pass. I expect them to get a lead and still allow Rudolph to run the offense. The Dolphins give up an average of 35.2 points per game. Look for Rudolph to step back in and make some players for the Steelers.

Mike Gesicki (3,600 DK and 7,500 FD)

Gesicki had high expectations coming out of Penn St. where he held the record for most receptions by a tight end. Through the first three games of the season, Gesicki only had six receptions. However, over the last two weeks, he has seven receptions. Look for him to finally get his first career touchdown tonight.

Game Predictions

The Dolphins come out and are able to score an early touchdown. The Steelers fight back and get their offense rolling. Their defense steps it up as well and shuts the Dolphins down. They ultimately are just the superior team and win the football game 31-14.

Player Predictions

Walton: 132 total yards and one touchdown.

JuJu: 7 receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Rudolph: 288 passing yards and three passing touchdowns.

Gesicki: 5 receptions for 67 yards and one touchdown.
