Monday Night Football DFS: Week 2

MNF DFS

After a fresh slate of games Sunday, it’s time to wrap up Week 2 of the NFL season with a divisional matchup out of the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers fresh off their blowout loss will host the Detroit Lions at historic Lambeau Field. Time to get those DFS lineups set. Let’s take a look at the top players in this matchup.

DraftKings Captain

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (DK 8,400 | FD 8,000)

MVS has the big-play capability and if the Packers go with a heavy run scheme this week, he should get plenty of opportunities off the play-action pass. Last week he was the leading receiver in targets with eight even though he only caught three of those for 17 yards. The Lions’ defense struggled against Deebo Samuel giving up big plays all day for 189 receiving yards. With a lot of the focus on Davante Adams, look for MVS to break loose and make some big plays.

FanDuel MVP

D’Andre Swift (DK 8,400 | FD 12,000)

Swift was supposedly limited last week with a groin injury. He still ended up with 11 carries and 11 targets. No matter what the game script is in this matchup, Swift will still get his fair share of opportunities. He is one of their best offensive playmakers and like they did last week they will continue to get him the ball in open space and let him make plays. Look for Swift to have another big game and be the top fantasy scorer on the slate.

Flex Plays

AJ Dillon (DK 3,000 | FD 7,000)

The Packers abandoned the run in last weeks matchup versus the New Orleans Saints. Dillon was the team’s leading rusher going for only 19 yards in five carries. This week they need to establish the run early. Especially, against a Lions team coming off of a game where they gave up 131 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Look for Dillon to get things going early for the Packers and have one of his biggest games as a pro.

Quintez Cephus (DK 3,800 | FD 7,500)

As the game went on last week, Cephus began getting more targets. In fact, he did all of his damage in the fourth quarter grabbing three passes for 12 yards and a touchdown. The Packers will be tough to beat coming off their blowout loss against the Saints. Pair that with them facing off against a division rival and that is a recipe for a huge bounce-back game. If the Packers can get the lead early, look for Jared Goff and the Lions to be forced to get pass-heavy. Cephus will then start getting more opportunities later into the game as he did last week.
