Monday Night Football DFS Week 11: Chiefs vs Chargers

Brandon Braasch | November 18th, 2019

The Kansas City Chiefs head into Mexico City to face the Los Angeles Chargers. Mexico City gets its redemption in tonight’s game. Last year when the Chiefs were scheduled to play in Mexico City, the field conditions were not great so they moved the game to Los Angeles. That game ended up being a classic. I expect this game to be a great one as well. Here are my top players in this divisional matchup in Mexico.

DraftKings Captain & FanDuel MVP

Melvin Gordon (12,900 DK Captain, 8,600 DK, and 14,000 FD)

Flash had a great game last week against the Oakland Raiders. He has a rushing touchdown in three straight games. He is back and is getting it going after struggling in his first three games after his holdout. The secret is out on how to beat these Chiefs. In three of the four losses for the Chiefs, they have allowed a 100-yard rusher. Last week Derrick Henry had 188 yards and two touchdowns. If the Chargers are going to win, that’s the formula run the football and keep Mahomes off the field. Look for them to do exactly that and Gordon to have a huge game.

Flex Players

Tyreek Hill (10,600 DK and 15,500 FD)

Hill is one of the most electric players in the NFL. He has over 140 receiving yards and one touchdown in each of the last two games. He plays very well on Monday Night games. In four career games, he has 342 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also has more touchdowns (5) against the Chargers than any other team. Look for Hill to flash his speed and have another big game.

Michael Badgley (3,800 DK and 8,500 FD)

The over-under in this game is currently 53 points. That is going to leave some points for Badgley. The Chiefs also give up 369.5 yards per game. The Chiefs defense clearly gives up yards. That’s will set the Chargers up for opportunities in the Chiefs territory, resulting in field goal opportunities.

Mike Williams (5,800 DK and 8,500 FD)

I wrote up Williams as my MVP and Captain for last week’s Thursday Night game. I got burned on that but I am still going go with him as a flex play for tonight’s game. I know he only has 6 targets in the last two games. However, look for the Chargers to take some deep shots to Williams off of the play-action pass.

Damien Williams (7,400 DK and 11,500 FD)

Williams should be good to go for this game. If not I would go with LeSean McCoy instead. Williams has done very well in the last two games. He has 202 rushing yards, seven receptions, and one touchdown in those games. He gets a favorable matchup against the Chargers, who allow 110.5 rushing yards per game. Look for him to keep it going and keep getting more and more carries.

Player to Fade

Patrick Mahomes (12,000 DK and 16,500 FD)

I know Mahomes is one of the best players in the NFL. He is going to be one of the highest owned players on this slate. The Chargers know that they have to slow Mahomes down. They will not shut him down but if they can slow him down enough, the Chiefs may look to run the football more. I am going to be fading Mahomes and going with the other stars that I wrote about above.

Game Predictions

The Chargers practiced in Denver to prepare for high altitudes. The Chiefs chose to stay home. That is going to be the difference in this game. Gordon is going to pound the football and wear the defense out, allowing them to keep Mahomes on the sidelines. Chargers win 30-28 and slow down Mahomes just enough to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Player Predictions

Gordon: 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Hill: 120 total yards and one touchdown.

Badgley: 3/3 field goals and 3/3 extra points.

M. Williams: 78 receiving yards and one touchdown.

D. Williams: 104 total yards and one touchdown.
