Monday Night DFS: Week 15

Big Ben

This game was supposed to be a battle between old school and new school in the AFC North. However, since Joe Burrow is out for the season, Ryan Finley will lead the Cincinnati Bengals as they host Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since this is a Monday night game, it could not get flexed so we are stuck with a game that will likely end in a blowout. That does not mean there isn’t still money to be made in DFS. Now let’s jump right into the top players for this Monday night showdown.

FanDuel MVP

Ben Roethlisberger (DK $11,800 | FD $16,000)

Roethlisberger has struggled recently but he also faced three very good passing defenses in the NFL. The last time he faced this Bengals defense, he lit them up for 333 yards and four touchdowns. The Steelers need to have a good game to get their confidence back after dropping two straight. The offense runs through Big Ben especially with the struggles of their rushing attack. Look for Roethlisberger to get this offense rolling in a great matchup for the Steelers.

DraftKings Captain

Diontae Johnson (DK Captain $15,300 | FD $14,500)

This is a get right game for Johnson. He has struggled severely with drops all season and even more the last couple of weeks. Johnson’s drops even led to him getting benched last Sunday night. In that game, he played a season-low 49 percent of snaps when healthy. As long as Johnson doesn’t have some bad drops early in this game, he should be back to being one of Roethlisberger’s top targets. Before Sunday night’s game, Johnson had double-digit targets in five straight games. Look for him to have a big game and gain some confidence in his pass-catching ability.

Utility Players

Tee Higgins (DK $6,800 | FD $10,000)

The Bengals are very likely to be losing most of this game. They also have been struggling to have any success in the rushing attack. That sets them up perfectly for a pass-heavy game plan. Finley has to throw to somebody and Higgins has seen plenty of targets in recent games. In the last game against the Steelers, Higgins went for 115 yards and one touchdown. That was with Burrow at quarterback so, his ceiling will be lower in this game. Look for Higgins to see a high volume of targets and provide good fantasy value.

Chase Claypool (DK $8,600 | FD $11,500)

Claypool only had three receptions last week for 15 yards. However, he was limited in practice with an illness all of last week so, that could have been a factor in his struggles on Sunday night. This week he is good to go and gets a perfect matchup against the Bengals secondary. Claypool found the end zone twice in their first matchup and the Bengals have allowed 15 touchdowns to receivers this season. Look for Claypool to get back on track and score his first touchdown since Week 11.
