Hello, DFSers! Today we have a divided slate of games with the 1:05 eastern slot offering the most games(6). This is where we will focus our attention on. So if you want in on the action, act now so you can get your lineups submitted on time. Strap on the batting gloves and eye black, let’s go Around the Horn!
PITCHER
Aaron Nola PHI $10,700
The pitching landscape for this slate is underwhelming and there isn’t a clear-cut favorite. My strategy is to invest money at both pitcher slots. Aaron Nola and Brad Peacock($9,400) look good as any other with the lean going to Nola. Nola has been way better at home compared to on the road this season. 59 innings, 67K/24BB, 3.19 ERA, 18.8DKptspg, on the road in 29 innings of work:33K/13BB,7.28 ERA, 11DKptspg. Nola will face the Mets who are mostly a middle-of-the-pack offense in terms of facing right-handed pitching.17th in batting average(.247), 15th in wOBA(.316), 20th in ISO(.174), 18th in K%(22.6).
INFIELD
Ozzie Albies 2B ATL $4,500
The Atlanta Braves are hitting extremely well this month so getting pieces of their lineup is a very good idea. Going into last night’s action the Braves have scored the most runs in all of baseball this month with 159 as well as leading in slugging percentage(.530) and wOBA(.369), The Braves will be in Wrigley to face Tyler Chatwood and the Chicago Cubs. The Braves are hitting .385 in 61 combined at-bats off of the right-handed starter. As for Albies, he is averaging 10.2DKpts and hitting .325 in his last 10 games. He has also tagged the Cubies pretty good this season going 11-for-24 in 6 games, averaging 13DKptspg.
Willy Adames SS TB $3,400
If you do decide to pay for higher priced pitching at SP2 finding value to fill out your roster will be important. Willy Adames at $3,400 seems like a good fit. Adames has knocked three out of the park in his last 10 games, including one last night. Adames has also fared well off of the Minnesota Twins this season going 9-for-23 in six games, good for an average of 9.7 DKptspg. As a team, the Rays have hit Twins starter, Martin Perez, well, they carry a .366 average in 71 combined at-bats versus the left-handed starter.
OUTFIELD
Nick Markakis ATL $3,700
Markakis and the Braves for that matter(as stated earlier) profile really well today. In six games versus the Cubs this season he is 10-for-24 with a homer and 10 RBI. In limited appearances versus Chatwood, Markakis is 3-for-7 with two doubles and 3 RBI.
Mac Williamson SEA $3,500
The Mariners, despite some changes to their lineup, continue to pile up runs. Going into last night’s action they have scored the second most runs this month with 140. Mac Williamson has stepped in nicely for injured outfielder Mitch Haniger who should return soon after being out with an injured groin. He has a nine-game hitting streak going into today’s game against Chase Anderson and the Milwaukee Brewers.
