MLB DFS: World Series Game Three

John Lepore | October 25th, 2019

The Washington Nationals are two games away from claiming the first World Series in the nation’s capital since 1924. They are home and surely are looking to close the series out, lest they return to Houston for a game six and/or seven. Let’s see what tonight will bring in MLB DFS.

All prices are from DraftKings

Asdrubal Cabrera ($12,000 Captain, $8,000 Utility) – People forget that Cabrera was a solid piece for the Nats down the stretch. After coming over from the Texas Rangers, he slashed .323/.404/.565 and had a 19/18 BB/K rate. He is 3-9 in the World Series and has had success against the Houston Astros’ starter Zack Greinke in the past going 16-37 with a 6/2 BB/K rate. With 18 HRs this year also, there is some power there and Cabrera could catch one against Greinke tonight.

Juan Soto ($15,000 Captain, $10,000 Utility) – He is a little pricey, but the birthday boy is worth it. When Soto is at home against a righty, he is a must-play. Facing right-handers this season, Soto hit 28 of his 34 HRs and had an even 1.000 OPS. In Nationals Park he had a 1.016 OPS with 170 TBs in 280 ABs. If there is anyone to pay for tonight, it would be Soto.

Michael Brantley ($10,800 Captain, $7,200 Utility) – While he hasn’t had an extra-base hit in his past eight games, he is 10-31 with five walks. At this price, Brantley is definitely someone who should be in the lineup. He is a solid 9-30 against Anibal Sanchez in his career, and although the power hasn’t been there recently, he is seeing the ball well and has as good of a chance as anyone to drive one out.

***Notes – I wouldn’t touch either pitcher tonight, but if I had to pick one I’d go with Sanchez. He has been very good in the playoffs so far (12.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 14 K), and he is home against an Astros team without the luxury of the DH.
