MLB DFS Sizzling Sunday Savings

MLB DFS Sizzling Sunday Savings

Time is flying as we hit the July 4th weekend and have just two weeks before the MLB Draft and the All-Star break. For our nine-game DFS slate on DraftKings today, we get back to basics. That means finding bargains and a pivot for those spots if you need to save just a bit more salary.

As usual, these are pitchers at $8,000 and under along with hitting bargains at $4,000 and under which is gold for your DFS lineups if they produce. It also allows you to stack the rest of your lineup with studs. Let’s get to it.

Be sure to check us out daily for our DFS content.

On the Mound

Shane Baz @ Toronto Blue Jays ($7,900)

His first start of the year didn’t go so well, as Baz got lit up for five runs and didn’t make it out of the third inning against the Minnesota Twins. Since then, the right-hander has been missing plenty of bats and has kept baserunners to a minimum. Over his past three starts, Baz has allowed just nine hits and four walks in 16.1 innings while striking out 30.6 percent of opposing hitters. Toronto is a tough opponent, but the strikeout upside is there.

Pivot: Carlos Carrasco vs. Texas Rangers ($7,600)

On the Dirt

Ryan Mountcastle, First Base ($3,900)

Mountcastle has a modest little five-game hitting streak going. Over the current stretch, he has seven hits with four of them going for extra bases. He has averaged 10.2 DK points in that time. Overall, Mountcastle has been hitting well since the beginning of June slashing .306/.356/.620 and averaging 9.6 DK points. He faces Devin Smeltzer who has been a bit lucky this season with a BABIP of .228 against and a 4.41 FIP compared to his 2.86 ERA. Regression may be in store today for the Twins lefty.

Pivot: Nathaniel Lowe ($3,400)

Christopher Morel, Second Base ($3,600)

I don’t understand how this kid’s price is still so low, but I’ll take it. All Morel has been doing over his 42-game major league career so far is hit. He has 20 extra-base hits and seven stolen bases on the season. He also has averaged nearly 10 points per game and has only put up zero points twice. Morel has a solid floor and is on a hot streak right now blasting three homers in his last four games.

Pivot: Kolten Wong ($3,200)

Eduardo Escobar, Third Base ($3,500)

After a couple of days off on Wednesday and Thursday, Escobar came back rejuvenated. He has a bomb in each of his last two games. He gets to face Jon Gray this afternoon who he has some history against. Escobar is 5-for-23 vs. the Texas right-hander, but he does boast a home run and five walks with just three strikeouts. The Mets switch-hitter should be able to do some damage today.

Pivot: Brian Anderson ($2,500)

On the Grass

Alex Verdugo ($3,500)

Verdugo has a 12-game hitting streak going and has had multiple hits in six of those games. He has actually been hitting well since the beginning of June. At the end of May, Verdugo was slashing .227/.263/.335. Since then, the left-handed hitter has slashed .330/.389/.485 while averaging 8.8 DK points.

Pivot: Michael Harris ($3,300)

Good Luck with all of your DFS lineups.
