MLB DFS: NLDS Slate

With only two games today, we will cover players rather than individual slates. DraftKings has the two-game Classic and also Showdowns for each game. We will cover just general plays that should be in your lineups no matter which games you decide to play. So let’s get at it.

Pitching

Patrick Corbin – Even though he is facing the potent Los Angeles Dodgers lineup, he should pitch well. Corbin actually faced the Dodgers in Chavez Ravine back on May 9th. He tossed seven innings and struck out eight while surrendering no runs. The Dodgers haven’t had much success in general against southpaws. Facing lefty starters this year the Dodgers have slashed .243/.319/.439. Certainly nothing scary. Corbin has been very good this year and the Washington Nationals just came off a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the Wild Card game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Hitting

Freddie Freeman – He will be facing Miles Mikolas in Game One who he is 3-10 with two bombs against. The Atlanta Braves first baseman loves hitting against righties also. This year he slashed .310/.416/.589 vs them. Also 30 of his career-high 38 HRs have come against right-handers. Get him in your lineups somehow.

Justin Turner – While the Dodgers don’t hit lefties well in general, Big Red loves them. His power certainly comes through as evidenced by his .938 OPS against southpaws. He also has nice career numbers vs Corbin going 12-32 with 3 doubles, 2 HRs, and a 4/3 BB/K rate. Corbin may do well against the Dodgers in general, but there is no reason to leave Turner out of all of your lineups.

Juan Soto – Let’s throw in the playoff hero already. In his first playoff game, he came through with a big hit against one of the nastiest relievers in lefty Josh Hader. You may or may not believe in momentum, but there are hot streaks and Soto could be in for a hot playoff series. Call it a hunch but I think he already got the jitters behind him and will not be overwhelmed by the moment.
