Welcome back to another beautiful Sunday edition of MLB DFS. Today, we have an eight-game slate on DraftKings starting at 1:35 pm EDT. We are also going to take a look at eight players to have in your lineups this afternoon as you grill up some burgers and have a few cold ones. As usual, these are pitchers at $8,000 and under along with hitting bargains at $4,000 and under which is gold for your DFS lineups if they produce. It also allows you to stack the rest of your lineup with studs. So, without further ado, let’s see what the Magic 8-Ball has to say for DFS.

On the Mound
Sonny Gray vs. Kansas City Royals ($8,200)
OK, so I went a tad bit over the $8,000 threshold. However, Gray is worth kicking in the extra $200. Since he returned in May, the right-hander has struck out 30 batters and allowed just one home run in 21.1 innings. He has also averaged 23.7 DK points over those four starts. The Minnesota Twins should be able to get to Zack Greinke. The veteran has been hit around lately allowing 14 earned runs over his last 14 innings. Outlook good.
Nick Pivetta vs. Baltimore Orioles ($7,800)
The Boston starter has also looked good in his last four starts. Opponents are having trouble getting on base as Pivetta has allowed just 15 hits and three walks while striking out 25 in 28 innings. The Baltimore Orioles have the third-worst OPS in the American League at .648 and only the Los Angeles Angels have struck out more in the AL. Will Pivetta shut down the birds in Fenway? Signs point to yes.
Triston McKenzie @ Detroit Tigers ($7,600)
The third pitcher looking to continue a successful May is McKenzie. The tall, lanky righty has also been tough to hit. He has allowed just a .511 OPS over his last four starts, and all of them have been quality ones. The Tigers score by far the least amount of runs in the majors at just 2.73 with the next closest being the Pittsburgh Pirates at 3.40. Detroit also has the worst OPS in baseball at just .604. Will the Motor City Kitties get to McKenzie today? Don’t count on it.
On the Dirt
Frank Schwindel, 1B ($3,900)
The Chicago Cub has started to heat up lately. He has six home runs and 23 RBIs this season. However, four of those homers and nine of those ribbies have come in the last seven games. He faces starter Dylan Cease today who has been very hittable recently. Over his last three starts, the White Sox right-hander has allowed 21 hits (four HRs) and 13 earned runs in just 12.2 innings. Will Schwindel take him deep today? Most likely.
Christopher Morel, 2B ($3,000)
Let’s get the rookie in the lineup while he is still incredibly cheap. In just 10 games to begin his major league career, the 22-year-old has put up at least five DK points in every one of them averaging 10.4. He also has scored 12.3 in his last four. That is four times ROI which is solid production to get into the money. Ride Morel until the league catches up to him, you may rely on it.
Jon Berti, 3B ($2,800)
Another very cheap option here. Berti has seen limited time this season but is filling in for the injured Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hamstring). There is a good chance Berti leads off again today especially against lefty Max Fried. The Marlins utility man has led off six times this season and has two home runs and three steals from the top spot in the lineup. While Fried is a tough matchup, Berti is making the most of his opportunity. Outlook good.
On the Grass
Nelson Cruz ($3,900)
Coming into May, it looked like age had finally caught up to Nellie as he was slashing .155/.253/.226. This month he is slashing .325/.382/.463. More recently over his current nine-game hitting streak, Boomstick raises that line to .469/.514/.594 and has four doubles, even chipping in a stolen base earlier this week. He faces left-hander Kyle Freeland today and while Cruz is 0-for-4 against the Rockie, he has a career .946 against southpaws. Should we take advantage of the price with Nellie? Without a doubt.
Andrew Benintendi ($3,600)
After a mid-month slump, Benny has gotten back on track. In his last seven games, the left fielder has a 1.123 OPS with seven walks to just three strikeouts. Although I still like Gray against this Kansas City lineup, Benintendi may be the one guy that gets to him as he is 6-for-14 with a home run against the Twins right-hander. Will Benny score fewer than 10 DK points today? Very doubtful.
