MLB DFS: Late Tuesday Night Plays

We are now over halfway through the second month of the 2021 MLB season. It is Tuesday, meaning the main slate is 14-games large. But I am here to give you pays for the late four-game slate that starts at 9:38 p.m. EST. Let’s take a look at some arms and bats for the short slate and try to make some cash.

Keep in mind that all prices are from DraftKings.

Arms

Julio Urias ($9,600)

The left-hander dealt a masterpiece his last time out, striking out six and allowing one run on two hits and one walk over seven innings. He is the most expensive pitcher on this slate, but he is well worth the price as he has yet to exceed 95 pitches in a start while still averaging six innings. Urias faces an Arizona Diamondbacks lineup that has been completely decimated by injuries. Right now, their lineup is down Ketel Marte, Kole Calhoun, Carson Kelly, Christian Walker, and Asdrubal Cabrera. Urias should be able to roll through the remaining hitters.

Zach Plesac ($8,000)

Plesac has been completely rolling his last three to four starts. In each of his last two starts, he went eight innings, while combining to surrender five hits and two runs and striking out nine. He has induced a 58 percent groundball rate and a 34.6 percent hard-hit rate. Plesac has struck out six or more in just two of his last four starts, but the Los Angeles Angels strike out a fairly high rate (26.3 percent) and will likely be without Mike Trout tonight. The right-hander is an easy SP2 in this very light pitching slate.

Bats

Jake Cronenworth ($4,000)

The San Diego Padres second baseman has been on fire of late, as he is currently on a five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games. Cronenworth is hitting .295/.373/.417 with three homers, 11 RBI, three stolen bases, and 26 runs scored through 42 games. He faces Colorado Rockies southpaw Austin Gomber, who has allowed a high walk rate (12.3 percent) and doesn’t very many swings and misses. The contact-happy with a high on-base percentage Cronenworth looks to have a day. Not to mention, he has an elite whiff percentage which is in the 97th percentile.

Jarred Kelenic ($2,900)

This is the value play of the night, as the fan-favorite prospect looks to start breaking out sometime soon. He had a tremendous second game of his major league career, going 3-for-4 with a homer, two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. Other than that, he has just one other hit. Take the chance to add him to your lineup for cheap before he breaks out and his price shoots up.

Alex Bregman ($5,700)

The third baseman of the Houston Astros has had two hits in back-to-back games and looks to continue his hot hitting on the road as Houston travels to Oakland to face the Athletics. He is slashing .346/.393/.596 with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 10 RBI through 13 road games this season. Bregman has also mashed three homers and gone 21-for-62 (.339) against left-handers this season, as he faces Sean Manaea.

Home Run Call: Bregman

Good luck with your lineups tonight!
