Now that the opening games are over, its time to really hit the ground running. I am not normally a DFS guy, I prefer the sports gambling side of things but I am going to give this a go.

Pitchers:
Alex Wood ($7,800)
Anytime you have a pitcher throwing against a team that has Pablo Sandoval hitting third you have to be all over that. To be honest, the Giants just have too weak of an offense in a pitcher-friendly ballpark. I get that Wood is not the sexiest pick in the world, but I’m looking more at the team the pitcher is facing rather than the actual pitcher.
Luis Castillo ($8,000)
Same thing with my previous pick. The Tigers are quite possibly the worst team in a long time. There is not a single player in the Tigers lineup that scares me in any phase of the game. But enough about the Tigers, let’s talk about Castillo. At only 27 years of age, Castillo won 15 games and struck out 226 batters a year ago. Opponents are barreling up Castillo 27% of the time, good for second in all of baseball. With a team like the Tigers, a team that doesn’t hit well, this is a safe pick.
Stacks:
Cleveland Indians: The Indians have some real pop in their lineup. While it did not show in game one, they will be going up against Brady Singer, who will be making his MLB debut in this game. Singer has a mid to below 90s fastball and a decent slider. He also works with a changeup that has potential, but still needs more work. I really like Carlos Santana ($4,500), Cesar Hernandez ($3,700), and Francisco Lindor ($4,900) here.
Cincinnati Reds: Do I need to remind you that they are playing the Tigers? Adding Mike Moustakas ($4,300) and Nicholas Castellanos ($4,800) to that powerful lineup makes them extra dangerous, especially against the Tigers.
Bringing The Lumber:
Franmil Reyes ($4,300)
I really liked Reyes’ chances of being among the league leaders in home runs. He plays in a hitter-friendly ballpark and has some serious power. Reyes hits the ball to center and right harder than anyone with an AVG exit velo of 97.4. Going up against a guy who is making his major league debut could lead to a big night for Reyes.
Giancarlo Stanton ($4,700)
We are not too far removed from Stanton’s monster MVP season. While his time with the Yankees has not been as productive as wished, he still shows plenty of pop in his bat, as we saw with his mammoth 460ft shot on opening day against the Nationals. Look for Stanton to have a massive year if he can stay healthy.
