MLB DFS: Fun-Lovin' Friday

We have every team in action tonight. Yes, a 15-game slate to work with. So, let’s drop 15 players who could make an impact in your lineups tonight. I will break them up by salary tiers so you have options to spend up or go with the value. Let’s get to our MLB DFS plays to start the weekend.

***All Prices Are DraftKings***

On the Bump

Cody Poteet – $6,600 – at Pittsburgh Pirates

The Miami right-hander was cruising along to start his major-league career until he ran into the Red Sox at Fenway Park last time out. No worries though. He gets to face the Pirates at PNC Park tonight and that should fix what ails him. Pittsburgh is dead last in the majors with 3.42 runs per game and they are also dead last in OPS at .650. Lock in the rookie for this price.

Keegan Akin – $4,600 – vs. Cleveland Indians

Akin isn’t a world-beater by any means, but he did get into the fifth inning last time out while only allowing a run to the strong White Sox lineup. He threw 94 pitches which is where he can get to tonight. The Indians offense is still anemic and we will always pick on the team that has scored three or fewer runs in nearly half the games they have played. The price is too good to pass up especially in GPPs.

Other Options: Freddy Peralta ($10,400 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks), Spencer Turnbull ($8,300 at Chicago White Sox)

On the Dirt

Brad Miller – 2B – $3,600

Miller loves hitting at home for the Phillies. He is slashing .306/.358/.551 at Citizens Bank Park this season. I know he has slumped a bit of late and he faces Max Scherzer tonight. His price is lower because of those factors, but Miller is 5-for-10 with three bombs off of Mad Max in his career, and that .910 home OPS is hard to ignore at this price. Miller is batting fifth also for the Phillies this evening.

Jose Devers – SS – $2,600

Deep value here. Devers is leading off for the Marlins tonight against Mitch Keller. I spoke about Keller’s on-again-off-again pitching trend last week. Well, tonight represents an off start for the Pittsburgh righty. Take advantage of this extremely low price for a guy who is setting the table.

Other Options: Matt Olson ($5,300 at Colorado Rockies) *HR Call, Francisco Lindor ($4,900 at San Diego Padres), Rafael Devers ($4,700 at New York Yankees) *HR Call, Carlos Santana ($4,300 vs. Minnesota Twins), Anthony Rendon ($4,000 vs. Seattle Mariners)

On the Grass

Ryan Mountcastle – $3,300

The 24-year-old has gone 5-for-12 in his last three games with a pair of bombs and five RBI. He faces Cleveland tonight and while their bullpen has been solid, they are starting Jean Carlos Mejia who has all of five major-league innings under his belt. Go with the hot hand here.

Odubel Herrera – $3,200

Herrera is leading off for the Phillies tonight. Again, he is facing Scherzer, but Herrera has had a ton of success against the Washington Nationals ace. The Philly centerfielder is 15-for-43 with a couple of homers and a couple of stolen bases in his career against Mad Max. Herrera is also hot with back-to-back three-hit games.

Other Options: Starling Marte ($5,100 at Pittsburgh Pirates), Cody Bellinger ($4,500 at Atlanta Braves)

Good Luck with all of your MLB DFS lineups tonight.
