MLB DFS: Full-Slate Friday

Happy Friday everyone! With another week coming to a close, we have a big 14-game slate on DraftKings starting at 7:05 p.m. EST for MLB DFS. With a slate this large, there are a number of players to choose from and a lot of potential for value plays. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some players we could target for our lineups tonight.

Hurlers

Lock – Jack Flaherty ($9,400)

The St. Louis Cardinals right-hander has looked crisp so far this season, picking up five straight victories following his blowup on Opening Day. Flaherty has allowed seven combined runs in those five games after surrendering six runs in 4 1/3 on April 1. He has struck out at least five batters in each of those starts, including nine in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Colorado Rockies are dead last in hard-hit percentage at 34.8 percent, while Flaherty has allowed a 43.3 percent hard-hit rate. The Rockies haven’t been as terrible offensively as many expected, but they are also away from Coors facing a top-notch starter.

Jameson Taillon ($8,300)

Taillon is starting to get back into the grove of pitching every fifth day after not doing so for two years. A big confidence boost came in his last start against the Detroit Tigers. Despite it being the Tigers, who are the worst team in the majors, he still looked very solid. He only lasted five innings, but call that easing him back in. Over those five innings, he allowed just one run on three hits and three walks, while he struck out eight. The Washington Nationals obviously won’t be as easy a team to set down, but Taillon looks to be getting in his groove and should get plenty of run support with the Yankees’ offense on fire of late.

Big Boppers

Carson Kelly ($5,000)

Kelly has been very impressive for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season, as he sports a .323/.477/.645 slash line with six homers, 17 RBI, and 17 walks. He has also struck out just 14 times, good for a low strikeout rate of 16.3 percent. His xwOBA (.462), xSLG (.621), and BB% (19.8%) are all in the 95th percentile and above this season. Look for him to keep it going against his former teammate Zac Gallen tonight.

DJ LeMahieu ($5,200)

The New York Yankees‘ infielder is not having a bad season by any stretch, but his numbers aren’t where they were last season. He is still slashing .267/.361/.336 – his slugging percentage is very far off from last season’s .590. His xwOBA is an impressive .349 along with a .288 xBA and .409 xSLG. LeMahieu faces a pitcher he is very familiar with in Patrick Corbin. Over his career, he is 18-for-51 (.353) off Corbin with four homers, three triples, three walks, and seven RBI. Corbin has also had a sluggish start to his season, which includes a 6.9 K/9, 5.4 BB/9, and 2.7 HR/9. He also has a 7.34 xERA and has given up a .319 batting average, 1.098 OPS, and .462 wOBA to right-handed batters so far.

Francisco Lindor ($5,000)

If you believe in due, then Lindor is long overdue to break out with his new club in Queens, New York. The former Cleveland Indians shortstop has started his first season with the New York Mets going just 15-for-89 (.169). One positive is that he has one more walk (16) than he has strikeouts (15). He finally picked up his first hit in five games on Thursday, and today he will finally start getting hot.
