MLB DFS for Sunday

MLB DFS for Sunday: Gleyber Torres
Advertisement

We have a nice 10-game slate this afternoon starting at 1:00 pm ET. There are plenty of values with a few pitchers under $8,000 and hitters under $4,000. We did pretty well with our pitchers yesterday so let’s see which players we can spend low on in MLB DFS for Sunday so we can afford to get our studs in the lineups.

***All Prices Are DraftKings***

On the Bump

Patrick Corbin – $7,600 – vs. Baltimore Orioles

The Nationals lefty has been better lately, especially at home, after a horrendous start to the year. In his last three outings at Nationals Park, Corbin has thrown 20 innings and allowed only three ER, one HR, and has an 18/4 K/BB rate. Today he gets to face the Orioles who will be without the DH and are in the bottom third of baseball in runs per game and OPS. Look for Washington’s southpaw to keep pushing his ERA to a respectable level.

J.A. Happ – $6,400 – at Cleveland Indians

Happ’s 5.35 ERA this season is skewed by the fact that the Chicago White Sox seem to own him. In his five starts against teams not named Chicago, the Twins lefty has a 1.91 ERA with hitters struggling to a .509 OPS against him. Today he gets the division-rival Indians who are just as anemic as the Orioles. Then you have the situation of Zach Plesac on the mound for Cleveland. He has had two no-hitters thrown against his squad while he has been on the mound (Rodon, Miley).

Kris Bubic – $5,000 – Detroit Tigers

The former first-round pick got his first start of the season on Tuesday and he didn’t disappoint allowing just one hit over six innings. As a matter of fact, Bubic hasn’t given up a run in his past 17.2 innings. The Tigers are the only team in the American League to walk fewer than 130 times (129) and strike out more than 450 times (465). This may be the play of the day getting a pitcher at just $5,000. Bubic needs to be in some of your lineups.

On the Dirt

Josh Harrison – 2B – $3,600

The veteran has been on a nice little run getting his average over .300. In his last nine games, Harrison is hitting .364 with a .932 OPS. He looks to stay hot today facing Matt Harvey. Harrison is 6-for-14 in his career against the pitcher formerly known as the Dark Knight.

Gleyber Torres – SS – $3,500

The Yankee shortstop has been on a nearly month-long tear. Entering April 27th, Torres was batting a miserable .208 with an equally dismal .548 OPS. Since then he is slashing .344/.403/.508 with a couple of bombs and 14 RBI in those 16 games. He is also one of the few Yankees who handle opponent Dallas Keuchel decently going 2-for-6 against the White Sox lefty.

Brian Anderson – 3B – $3,300

Since returning from the IL on May 4th has a solid .782 OPS with a couple of dingers and a trio of steals. He is on a modest six-game hitting streak currently. Anderson gets to face former teammate Jordan Yamamoto today. The Mets are in dire straits with all of their injuries and they are hoping Yamamoto can catch a little lightning in a bottle today. I doubt it. Anderson should get a few knocks.

On the Grass

Max Kepler – $3,800

What Kepler lacks in hits, he makes up for in pop and speed. Although the Twins outfielder just got his average above the Mendoza line, he has been raking the past three days. On the season he has nine doubles, a couple of triples, four bombs, and five swipes. I’d get him in a few GPPs as he will be my Home Run call of the day.

Andrew Benintendi – $3,500

Just like Torres, Benny has been hot for the past month. He entered April 23rd slashing a putrid .180/.254/.230. Since then his line is .359/.412/.478. He also likes facing right-handed pitching with an .803 OPS and all three of his homers off of righties. Benintendi gets to face Casey Mize today who he is 2-for-4 with a bomb against.

Good Luck Everyone.
