MLB DFS DraftKings Around the Horn June 7th, 2019

Joel Dorcas |June 7th, 2019

A full schedule to dissect for tonight awaits us. The Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros are in fine spots and will likely be very popular when targeting offense. The pitching landscape has plenty of good to great options, no clear cut favorite but we can feel fairly confident with a couple aces that are in good spots. You know the drill, we’re going Around the Horn! Giddy up!

Pitcher

Gerrit Cole HOU $12,200

It’s just too difficult to pass up on Cole’s upside for K’s in this one. Clayton Kershaw has my eye as well but with both player’s opponents being virtually equal in K% this season-Cole against the Orioles and their 12th ranked/23.5 K%, and Kershaw against the Giants, 13th ranked/23.4 K%. my lean goes to Cole. On the season Cole is at 13.4 K/9 whereas Kershaw is at 8.39.

Infield

David Fletcher LAA 3B/OF $4,300

Lots to like in regards to the Angels at home against the reeling Seattle Mariners and left-handed starter Marco Gonzales. Middle infielder David Fletcher has proven himself and has made great strides this season. He has trimmed down his strikeouts considerably from a year ago while improving his walk percentage. Last season his BB% was at 4.9%, this season that has improved to 7.8%. As for strikeouts, he was at 11.1%, this season he has cut it down to just 6.5%. The result is Fletcher is now one of the premier contact hitters in the league, as of Wednesday he is hitting .313. Fletcher is 8-for-20 with a 1.105 OPS and a .470 wOBA off of Gonzales.

Orlando Arcia MIL SS $3,900

Arcia and the Brewers will host the Pirates at Miller Park after just recently taking three of four games with the finale finishing June 2nd in Pittsburgh. Using FantasyPros ranks which take into consideration the last three seasons, Miller Park is 13h for runs scored(1.019), and 7th for home runs(1.104) in terms of Park Factors. As for Arcia, he handled the Pirates very well in the recent series going 5-for-17 with five runs scored and two round-trippers. On the season Arcia has been a great boost to a very good lineup. As of Wednesday, he is hitting .260 with 8 HRs, 26 RBI and 26 Runs.

Outfield

Ramon Laureano OAK $4,100

My outfield will be Oakland heavy as they profile really well at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The Athletics will draw veteran righty Lance Lynn who has actually been very decent this season at 7-4 with a 4,50 ERA and 77 Ks in 74 innings. Actively current A’s are hitting .279 with a .819 OPS and a .358 wOBA in 43 at-bats. Last time Lynn faced the A’s April 23rd of this season he was banged up pretty good going just three and a third inning allowing eight earned runs in an 11-5 loss. Laureano has heated up of late going 23-for-67(.343) in his last 17 games(as of before Wednesday night’s game).

Robbie Grossman OAK $4,000

Really any of the Athletics outfielders should be worth consideration. Khris Davis is just coming off an injury so going with some lower priced options might be wiser. Grossman much like Laureano has put together a string of good games recently, in his past nine games he is 14-for-38(.368) with five extra-base hits.
