PITCHER

Kenta Maeda MIN

Tonight’s slate is littered with stud pitchers, one that may get overlooked is Twins ace, Maeda. He gets a juicy matchup against a very weak-hitting Detroit Tigers lineup. Looking at the numbers this month, Detroit has scored 77 runs this month, 28th in Major League Baseball. They are also striking out a fourth-worst rate of 27.6 percent. They are also slugging just .347 which also pits them 28th overall. Maeda has struck out 71 while walking just 10 batters in 60.2 innings this season. He has faced the Tigers twice this season, striking out 16 in 12 frames of work.

INFIELD

DJ LeMahieu 2B NYY

The Yankees absolutely destroyed Toronto Blue Jays pitching in New York over a three-game series last week. They will look to keep things going against a pitching staff that is reeling over the last two weeks. They are pitching to an inflated 7.15 ERA since September 7. If last night was any indication, New York will find success yet again. The Blue Jays are sending lefty hurler Robbie Ray to the bump. Yet again, Ray is having control issues this season. In 47.2 innings he has yielded an incredible 41 walks. In his last seven games, he has given up six homers with a 6.68 ERA. LeMahieu is as solid and dependable as they come. Over his last 14 games discounting last night he is hitting .319 with a .789 SLG with six home runs and just a 6.0 K percentage.

Rafael Devers 3B BOS

Devers and the Red Sox will face Dean Kremer who has thrived in limited action giving up just three earned runs in 16 innings. Oriole pitching is hanging around the middle of the pack over the last few weeks registering a 4.29 ERA. The 4.82 FIP suggests that they are hittable. Heading into last night the Red Sox third baseman is tearing it up to the tune of a .380 average with a .720 SLG and four homers in his previous 12 contests.

OUTFIELD

Jeff McNeil NYM

The Mets have a really tough matchup versus the Rays who have pitched to a 3.15 ERA since September 7. Tyler Glasnow is the scheduled starter. He has been mowing down the opposition to the tune of 83Ks in 51.1 innings. McNeil is one of the better contact hitters in the league and is trending upwards of late. He has gone down on strikes just 11.1 percent of the time in his last 13 games. He is also hitting a robust .413 with a .674 SLG and three homers.

Eddie Rosario MIN

Minnesota will look to tee off the Detroit Tigers Wednesday evening. The Tigers are pitching to an ugly 6.03 ERA for the month of September. Highly touted pitching prospect, Casey Mize will toe the rubber to kick things off for the Tigers. He is pitching to a 6.08 ERA to date and has faced the Twins twice this season. In those games, he has logged seven innings and given up five earned runs. Rosario profiles well tonight. He hitting just under .300 (.289) with three homers and a .533 SLG in his last dozen games. A Minnesota stack including Max Kepler and Byron Buxton is fully in play.
