Happy Friday everyone! I hope everybody had a good week and made some money on some DFS lineups. I am here to help you try and win some more cash for today’s big slate of games. The main slate is for 7:05 pm est with 13 games under that slate. All pricing is based on DraftKings. Make sure you check your lineups when teams release their lineups. Let’s roll!
Locks
Gerrit Cole ($11,000)
The second-best pitcher in baseball, and really 1B as it is very close between him and DeGrom. From a fantasy standpoint, he has actually been more successful, even though he hasn’t been as dominant as he could yet. In all four of his starts, he has scored 19.9 points or more, while he struck out 10 batters his last start versus Tampa Bay. He has earned the win in three of the four starts and faces the Red Sox for the first time in the Yankees pinstripes today. That will give him extra motivation, as he grew up hating the Sox as a Yankees fan.
Value Plays
Pitchers
Dinelson Lamet ($9,200)
The Padres right-hander has put up impressive numbers thus far through four starts, giving up just four earned runs on 12 hits and seven walks while striking out 28. Lamet faces the Diamondbacks for the second straight time after carrying a no-hitter through six innings before a leadoff homer in the seventh on Sunday. The homer was the only hit that he allowed and he also struck out 11, good for 37.8 fantasy points on DraftKings.
Hitters
Jorge Soler ($4,300)
Soler has hit well this season with five bombs, two of them coming against the Twins on Saturday. One of them was off Jake Odorizzi who gets the ball today, while he was 4-for-12 in the series with four RBIs and three runs scored. In the game he hit two bombs, he put up 32 DraftKings points. He has hit the ball hard with a 49% hard-hit rate and 22% barrel% (top 1% of the league). Odorizzi will still have a limited pitch count, so Soler can mash him early on. 39 of his 41 homers in 2019 were also against righties, as well as all five this season.
Stacks
New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox
With or without Aaron Judge in the lineup, this is a good matchup for the Yankees. The Red Sox gave up 17 runs last night against the Rays and they are going with Colten Brewer as the opener in this one, who will probably be followed up with Ryan Brasier as the long man. The Yankees are coming off scoring 15 runs in two games against the Braves and they mash right-handers, with 25 of their 31 homers off them. Start your lineups with Judge if he plays, DJ LeMahieu, Gio Urshela, Luke Voit, and Mike Ford, and adjust accordingly to who ends in the lineup. Mike Tauchman, Aaron Hicks, and Clint Frazier are names to also keep an eye on. Also, be aware of ownership here as this is a pretty chalky stack.
Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals
The Twins are still down their third baseman Josh Donaldson, but they are already scary without him, as of course, they didn’t have him last year. They faced Jakob Junis in his last start and hit two homers (Byron Buxton, Marwin Gonzalez) off him in 4.2 innings. Buxton has been hitting the ball well and is coming off a two-homer game to bring his total to five. This game being at Target Field is also huge and I could see Miguel Sano breaking out for a big day as he has been off to a slow start. Eddie Rosario, who is getting it going, Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco, Nelson Cruz, and even Jake Cave are solid options to look at. Junis has just a 10.3 K%, .584 xSLG against, and a 6.90 ERA.
