MLB DFS 5/25: Thumps and Heaters for a West Coast Afternoon

MLB DFS

Another edition of MLB DFS falls in the hands of a light four-game load. An afternoon which comprises five teams from the West Coast, with three of the four games under the Pacific Time Zone. The odd man of the bunch displays an NL showcase between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals in the capital city. An indication from the headlines, here are today’s thumps and heaters for our daily fantasy campaign.

On the Hill

Paul Blackburn at Seattle ($7,800)

Blackburn has been a surprise triumph for the A’s in 2022. Allowing just nine earned runs over 42.1 frames, the soft-tosser continues to be a diamond for Mark Kostay’s group. You must include the right-hander in your DFS lineup, as Blackburn regulates a 17 fantasy point average. The 28-year-old is anxious to retain his success as the A’s clash with the Mariners.

Julio Urias at Washington ($8,600)

After a botched six-inning mess that handed the Philadelphia Phillies an eight spot, Urias seemed to snap back fairly well. Just six games following his chaotic start, the southpaw was untouchable. Tossing a five-inning shutout with just two knocks, the Phillies were blanked by the lefty. Urias shouldn’t fare any issues as he faces the scuffled Nationals at 4:05 pm eastern.

The Sluggers

Pete Alonso, 1B ($5,300)

The heavyset Alonso has been a power sensation for the New York Mets ballclub. Cranking 11 long balls paired with an NL leading 41 plated runs, the polar bear has shaped into his potent form. Alonso has caught quite the break as his average has not been his strong suit in recent years. Evident in a .288 batting average, the first-baseman has finally obtained an efficient stroke. Alonso is a necessity for your fantasy needs as he snoops to undertake Jose Ramirez as the league leader in RBI.

Julio Rodriguez, OF ($3,900)

A highly regarded prospect out of the minor league system, Rodriguez was set at high standards. Many expected prosperity straight out of the gates which intimidated the rookie outfielder. However, Rodriguez has attained those standards of late. Notching up his average to .274 followed by four big flies, the anxiety is finally at leisure. The 21-year-old hopes to sustain his recent thrive as he fronts Blackburn and the A’s.

Mike Yastrzemski, OF ($3,300)

It feels as though Yastrzremski has been in the league for quite a while. That doesn’t seem to bother the veteran as he flaunts a .305 batting average. After a two-bagger in last night’s first inning, the outfielder extended his seven-game hit streak to eight. Yastrzemski has been a mouthful for pitchers to chew on which he hopes to bestow in the Mets pitching staff.
