Manny Machado San Diego Padres
In my second year doing this article, I’ve had repeat players, but never back-to-back… until now.
Machado has been tearing it up as lead the National League in slugging percentage (1.000) and he was tied for second in home runs this week. This helped earned Machado back-to-back Player Of The Week honors, the first player to do it since Fransisco Lindor back in May 2017.
Kyle Lewis Houston Astros
Despite the Astros losing their top starting pitcher, top hitter, and closer the team is still in the American League West hunt at 2.5 games behind Oakland
Lewis had seven hits in the last five games and lead all of baseball this past week in RBI (11), Slugging Percentage (1.222) and the American League in On-Base Percentage (.545)
Kyle Schwarber Chicago Cubs
Schwarber may not get a lot of hits, but when he does, he makes them count. In his sixth season, he only has a career average of .235 and he’s currently under that at .228.
His power numbers are the reason he’s in the big leagues and why he’s on the list this week. He led the league last week in home runs (5) and was tied for second in the National League in RBI.
