After Thursday there are bound to be some talented players still on the board available for teams to pick on Friday at the start of the second round. My first round of this mock draft had six trades which dropped some talented players down the draft board. Let’s get started with round two.

33. Cincinnati Bengals – Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia
Joe Burrow is now the quarterback in Cincinnati and the offensive line still needs some help, specifically at right tackle as Bobby Hart isn’t cutting it. Insert Wilson who has risen up the ranks and they have a new right tackle to help Burrow’s rookie year growing pains.
34. Miami Dolphins (via Indianapolis) – Zack Baun, EDGE/LB, Wisconsin
Baun is best fit in a Brian Flores style defense. With Detroit and the Giants behind them, Miami pounces on the opportunity to add Baun to their defense.
35. Detroit Lions – Marlon Davidson, IDL, Auburn
Detroit continues to add to their defense after selecting Jeffrey Okudah in the first round of this mock. Davidson has also gotten some first-round hype but falls to Detroit at the top of the second round.
36. New York Giants – Cesar Ruiz, IOL, Michigan
The Giants added Tristan Wirfs in round one and now add to their offensive line again again by adding Ruiz in the second round to man the middle of the unit.
37. Los Angeles Chargers – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
A rookie quarterback’s best friend is either a good running game or a great offensive line. The Chargers can snag a mid-round offensive tackle and instead opt for a running-mate to go along with Austin Ekeler. Taylor replaces Melvin Gordon in Los Angeles and should burst onto the scene for you fantasy players.
38. Carolina Panthers – Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama
Carolina continues to add to their secondary by adding McKinney to pair with Fulton who I had them select in round one. With Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, and now Tom Brady in the division, Carolina desperately needs to improve their secondary.
39. Miami Dolphins – J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State
Miami continues to build around the recently added Justin Herbert by selecting possibly the best running back in the class. Dobbins has met with Miami multiple times and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dolphins selected him in the second round.
40. Houston Texans – Ross Blacklock, IDL, TCU
Houston let D.J. Reader walk in free agency going to Cincinnati. The Texans needs defensive playmakers and Blacklock is a disruptive interior presence in the middle of the defensive line.
41. Cleveland Browns – Jeremy Chinn, LB/S, Southern Illinois
Cleveland solved its biggest need in round one with the selection of Andrew Thomas and now fix potentially their second and third biggest need by selecting Chinn who is a blend of a linebacker and safety. The Browns added Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo during free agency, but the league is transitioning to three safeties, and the linebacking core for Cleveland needs help. Chinn can help both.
42. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
The Jaguars double-dip on cornerbacks with the selections of Jeff Gladney and now Diggs. A trio of Gladney, Diggs, and Tre Herndon wouldn’t be too bad for Jacksonville, while also adding Javon Kinlaw on the defensive line.
43. Baltimore Ravens (via Chicago) – Willie Gay Jr, LB, Mississippi State
After Green Bay took Patrick Queen right in front of them, Baltimore traded down and still got a top-three linebacker by selecting Gay. John Harbaugh and Wink Martindale can take him under their wings and helping him develop further.
44. Miami Dolphins (via Indianapolis) – Antoine Winfield Jr. S, Minnesota
Miami turned the two selections they got from Indianapolis into Baun and Winfield, two first-round caliber talents. Miami is one of the winners of the draft so far mid-way through the second round.
45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
Help Brady any way possible. After selecting Mekhi Becton in round one, Tampa Bay comes back and snags Swift as the team’s true number one running back.
46. Carolina Panthers (via Denver) – Justin Madubuike, IDL, Texas A&M
The interior defensive line for the Panthers got shredded during free agency. While Carolina didn’t get one of Kinlaw or Derrick Brown, Madubuike is just another step below, and the Panthers got an extra second-round pick to boot from the trade.
47. Atlanta Falcons – Terrell Lewis, EDGE, Alabama
Atlanta’s defense needs help. It’s almost like we’ve been saying that for the last five years. Lewis is a boom-or-bust prospect in this draft but Dan Quinn has to take chances. They already traded up for a cornerback and now add potentially the most underrated edge rusher in the draft.
48. New York Jets – Lucas Niang, OT, TCU
The Jets traded down in the first round, adding an extra second-round pick which we’ll get to later while selecting Justin Jefferson with the 21st selection. Now, they continue to add to their offensive line with the selection of Niang.
49. Pittsburgh Steelers – Neville Gallimore, IDL, Oklahoma
The Steelers lost Javon Hargrave to the Eagles in free agency and need a replacement. Gallimore is another second-tier interior defensive lineman that will be selected early on day two and the Steelers will love his skillset.
50. Chicago Bears – Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State
The Bears secondary isn’t the same as it was in 2018. The departures of Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan severely impacted the team. Arnette is an underrated cornerback in this class and Chicago would be wise to use one of its first selections on a cornerback.
51. Dallas Cowboys – Ashtyn Davis, S, California
The Cowboys need help all over the secondary and there are no cornerbacks worth selecting here. Four out of the five starting secondary players have expiring contracts after this year, and not that much cap space. Davis is a second-tier safety prospect that fits well with the defensive scheme.
52. Los Angeles Rams – Jordyn Brooks, LB, Texas Tech
The Rams lost Cory Littleton in free agency and have a gaping hole at linebacker and no first-round pick. Brooks has gotten first-round hype which I don’t understand and would feel much better selecting him here.
53. New York Jets (via Philadelphia) – Josh Uche, EDGE, Michigan
The Jets had several needs that they couldn’t all address with key players if they had stayed at pick 11. Instead, they traded down, getting an extra second-round pick. The trio of Jefferson, Niang, and Uche is a solid haul for the Jets.
54. Buffalo Bills – Jabari Zuniga, EDGE, Florida
This may be too early for Zuniga, but I love his fit in Buffalo who needs an edge rusher.
55. Baltimore Ravens – Lloyd Cushenberry III, IOL, LSU
While I’m not high on Cushenberry, Baltimore is an ideal fit thanks to the loss of Marshal Yanda. While he played center at LSU, I think he can make the transition to guard or the Ravens could move Matt Skura to guard.
56. Miami Dolphins – Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
Miami does have two solid receivers with DeVante Parker and Preston Williams, but neither is a superb route runner like Aiyuk is. With their six selections, the Dolphins come out with Herbert, Josh Jones, Baun, Dobbins, Winfield, and Aiyuk.
57. Los Angeles Rams – Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
The Rams currently have John Kelly, Darrell Henderson, and Malcolm Brown as their running backs. Edwards-Helaire brings a different element to the Rams rushing attack and should be selected around this range.
58. Minnesota Vikings – Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Johnson seems like a Vikings-style cornerback. Although I’m not high on him, he should be selected in this range.
59. Seattle Seahawks – Austin Jackson, OT, USC
The Seahawks still need offensive line help. Jackson is not talked about as much as some of the other second-tier offensive linemen but should be talked about more.
60. Baltimore Ravens – KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State
Baltimore is building a track team and Hamler fits the bill. Hamler teamed up with Marquise Brown is a lethal downfield combination.
61. Tennessee Titans – Raekwon Davis, IDL, Alabama
With the trade of Jurrell Casey to Denver, Tennessee has a need for another defensive tackle beside Jeffery Simmons. Davis has endured a bit of a fall through the process, but shouldn’t be available at the start of the third round.
62. Green Bay Packers – Laviska Shenault Jr. WR, Colorado
Shenault is my fourth-highest receiver on my draft board. He might not even drop this low due to his injury concerns, but teams in the second round don’t have that big of a need for a receiver or have already filled that need from day one. Shenault is this year’s Deebo Samuel and the Packers need a playmaker other than Davante Adams.
63. Kansas City Chiefs – Matt Hennessy, IOL, Temple
The Chiefs need defense but also offensive line help. Hennessy is an under-the-radar player who will be selected higher than most people expect.
64. Seattle Seahawks – Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
Seattle added a receiver with the 64th pick last year with D.K. Metcalf and do so again this year with Higgins. Opinions vary on Higgins and I’m low on him, but he shouldn’t slip into the third round.
