As of late, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have made huge investments to bulk up their squads coming into the 2021-22 season. Both teams suffered very disappointing finishes in the Europa League and Champions League, respectively. The Red Devils and Les Parisiens will look to redeem themselves.
Making Moves
Manchester United has confirmed the signing of Jadon Sancho. The Red Devils are also currently working on signing defender Raphaël Varane from Real Madrid. In addition, they’re in the process of landing 18-year-old French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
Last month, Paris Saint-Germain acquired midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool on a free transfer. Furthermore, Les Parisiens are also reportedly set to announce the signings of Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, and Gianluigi Donnarumma. The club is also interested in acquiring Camavinga.
Both clubs remain very busy in their quests. In PSG’s case, the future of Kylian Mbappé remains uncertain. For Manchester United, the future of Paul Pogba remains in question as the midfielder has been linked with a possible move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar signed a four-year extension in May, so it seems that Les Parisiens have plenty of talent heading into this season. PSG begins Ligue 1 play next month and they’re favorites for the upcoming UEFA Champions League tournament. Manchester United begins their upcoming Premier League season at home against Leeds United. The Red Devils are also competing in this season’s Champions League, hoping to have a better run this time around.
Manchester United is looking to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2013 while Paris Saint-Germain hopes to avenge their failure to win Ligue 1 for a fourth consecutive time. More than anything, Les Parisiens want to win the Champions League.
