The Round of 32 of the 2020-2021 Europa League tournament is officially all wrapped up. The tournament is now down to 16 competitors. Out of the 16, three are part of the English Premier League. Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United.
Manchester United is looking to make the best impression in this tournament. Of the three Premier League clubs, Manchester United was the only one to be a participant in the Champions League. After suffering relegation to the Europa League in a humiliating fashion, the Red Devils have the most to prove.
The Red Devils had to get through Real Sociedad in order to make it out of the Round of 32. After a 4-0 win on the road in the first leg, the second leg finished with a scoreless draw at Old Trafford. Unfortunately, Manchester United has yet to prove if they’re worthy contenders for the Europa League title. In addition, the Red Devils enter a difficult phase in Premier League play.
Manchester United is entering a crucial phase in Premier League play. With Manchester City a clear ten points ahead in first, the Red Devils’ quest to win the Premier League is over. On a positive note, Manchester United can still fight for a spot in next season’s Champions League tournament. Furthermore, they’re still competing for the FA cup. The Red Devils are fortunate to still in contention for several competitions. It’s up to them to make the most of it.
The Round of 16 takes place in March. The first leg will be on the 11th and the second leg will be on the 18th. Manchester United is set to take on AC Milan.
AC Milan is currently second in the Italian Serie A. No doubt, the Red Devils will be in for a challenge in their duels against AC Milan. In addition, Manchester United takes on Chelsea on Sunday in Premier League play. Furthermore, they take on Manchester City on the road.
The Red Devils need to go into their first game against AC Milan on a winning streak. A loss or disappointing results will affect Manchester United quite negatively.
At this point, the Red Devils can’t settle for any more losses or draws. Henceforth, winning is their only goal as it’s the only way they can make progress.
