The Los Angeles Rams have officially locked in their franchise quarterback for the next half-decade. This new deal will pay Goff the most guaranteed dollars in NFL history. They have agreed on a four-year extension with quarterback Jared Goff for a total of $134 million with $110 million guaranteed per Adam Schefter.
With the two existing years he had remaining on his contract, Jared Goff is now tied to the Rams for six seasons and $161 million. https://t.co/UX7njVGpth

This ties Goff, who was their first overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, to the Rams for the foreseeable future. The Rams made a trade with the Tennessee Titans to move up and get Goff years ago. The Rams sent a total of two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and two third-round picks.
It was quite the gambit the Rams gave up to land Goff. However, it has proven to be more than worthwhile in his short career so far. Despite a rocky rookie season under former head coach Jeff Fisher, Goff has led the Rams back to relevance in his last two years.
Goff has thrown for a career 9,581 yards, 65 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions. He also has a career passer rating of 94.7. In the last two seasons, he has uplifted the Rams offense to a second-place ranking in 2018 and first in scoring in 2017.
The Rams also have a 24-8 record under Goff and Sean McVay in the last two years. The pairing also has a 2-2 record in the playoffs with a Super Bowl appearance under their belt.
This is a commitment that the Rams believe will yield success for years to come. They have now locked in their core of Goff, Todd Gurley, Aaron Donald, and Brandin Cooks. A core the Rams hope will terrorize the NFL for years to come.
