The Los Angeles Rams will travel to Arlington, Tex., on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, to face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T stadium. The Cowboys lead the all-time series 13-12 and have won the last three of four games. They are coming into Week 15 with a 6-7 record while the Rams are 8-5 on the season. Dallas is favored to win the game with a 62.9 percent win probability and is hoping to break their three-game losing streak.
Los Angeles Rams Notables
The Rams come into this game following a victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14. Jared Goff has thrown 305 of 484 pass completions for 3,712 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions for a mediocre rating of 84.8 this season. Cooper Kupp has 77 receptions for 990 yards and seven touchdowns and Todd Gurley has posted 177 carries for 721 yards and nine touchdowns. Aaron Donald leads the team with 11 sacks and Troy Hill and Cory Littleton each have two interceptions on the season. Greg Zuerlein has a perfect PAT record putting, the ball through the post 33 out of 33 times has successfully kicking 22 of 29 field goal attempts.
Offense
Goff passed for 293 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in last week’s victory over Seattle and posted two touchdowns with zero interceptions in the last meeting. Goff has nine touchdowns versus two interceptions for a 101.5 rating in his five career starts against an NFC East opponent.
Gurley posted 113 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown last week and is going for his third game in a row with 110 or more scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown. In the last meeting between the teams, Gurley rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown during the NFC divisional playoffs last season. Gurley is aiming for his sixth game in a row against an NFC East team with 100-plus scrimmage yards and a touchdown and only needs 111 scrimmage yards for his fifth consecutive 1000-yard season.
Robert Woods recorded seven catches, 127 scrimmage yards and a touchdown catch in Week 14 and is going for his fifth game in a row with six or more catches and 95 or more receiving yards.
Kupp posted a touchdown catch last week as well as in the last meeting and is going for his third game in a row with a receiving touchdown. Tyler Higbee recorded seven catches for his career-high 116 receiving yards last week and became the first Rams tight end with consecutive 100-yard games in the Super Bowl era.
Defense
Aaron Donald posted one-and-a-half sacks in Week 14 and has 11 sacks so far this season and is the only player with eight or more sacks in each of the last six seasons.
Dante Fowler also posted one-and-a-half sacks last week as well as a sack in the NFC divisional playoff game.
Samson Ebukman recorded his first two-sack game against Seattle last week and Cory Littleton led the team with 10 tackles.
Gerald Everett has been listed as out on the injury report and Rob Havenstein has been ruled doubtful for Sunday’s game.
Dallas Cowboys Notables
Dallas comes into Week 15 fresh off of a road loss against the Chicago Bears in Week 14, their third loss in a row. Dak Prescott has recorded 325 of 496 completed passes for 4,122 yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for a 98.2 rating on the season. Ezekiel Elliott leads the team with 246 carries for 1,071 yards and nine touchdowns while Amari Cooper has 70 receptions for 1,054 yards and eight touchdowns so far this season. Robert Quinn leads Dallas with nine-and-a-half sacks and Jourdan Lewis and Xavier Woods both have two interceptions on the books. The Cowboys released Brett Maher after several weeks of poor performances despite breaking franchise records and signed Kai Forbath to the roster to take Maher’s place.
Offense
Prescott recorded 334 pass yards and a touchdown last week against the Bears which was his sixth 300-yard game of the season; with a career-high 4,122 passing yards so far this season, he became the first quarterback to post a 4,000-yard season since Tony Romo in 2012. Prescott is also going for his third game in a row with two or more touchdown passes and 350 or more passing yards.
Elliott had 81 rushing yards and his eighth career game with two rushing touchdowns last week and has three touchdowns in his two career games against the Rams. Elliott has racked up 6,656 scrimmage yards since 2016, which is the most in the NFL.
Cooper posted six catches for 83 yards and a touchdown last week against the Bears and recorded 65 receiving yards and a touchdown catch in the last meeting against the Rams. In the 11 home games since Cooper joined the team, he has recorded 82 receptions for 1,309 yards and 11 touchdowns and is going for his seventh consecutive game with five or more catches and 85 or more receiving yards.
Michael Gallup also had six receptions for 109 yards in Week 14, which was his fourth career 100-yard game. In the 2018 NFC divisional playoff game versus the Rams, Gallup posted 119 receiving yards.
Defense
Jaylon Smith was monumental in last week’s game and posted eight tackles, a career-high three pass deflections and his third career fumble recovery. Smith is going for his third consecutive home game with 10 or more tackles and posted 10 tackles in the last home meeting.
Robert Quinn, playing against his former team, recorded 62.5 sacks, 20 forced fumbles and 17 pass deflections in 95 games with the Rams. Quinn has led the Cowboys in sacks nearly the whole season this year.
Michael Bennett posted a sack in Week 14 and is aiming for his fifth game in a row with a tackle for loss while Jourdan Lewis had his fourth career interception last week and has posted three sacks in his last three games at home.
Leighton Vander Esch has been ruled out yet again this week and Sean Lee, Ventell Bryant, and Michael Bennett are listed as questionable on the injury report for Week 15.
Dallas is in first place in the NFC East despite losing seven of the 10 ten games, but the Cowboys need the victory to ensure they remain in the top position above the Philadelphia Eagles and to break the recent losing streak that has plagued head coach Jason Garrett.
