Latest on N’Keal Harry

The Super Bowl champions stood pat at the trade deadline with part of the reason being great progress from the first-round draft pick.

Rookie wide receiver N’Keal Harry who injured his hamstring in the first preseason game, has been coming along nicely according to his coach.

“I think N’Keal’s been working hard,” Bill Belichick told reporters on a conference call. “Even though he hasn’t been able to participate in practice until recently, he’s been able to do other things (like) train, study, watch film, keep up with the terminology and game plan adjustments we make.”

Belichick continued with reporters saying that his rookie receiver has been coming along nicely with his reps on the practice field.

“More recently, he has been able to get on the field and primarily take scout-team reps,” Belichick said. “Also do other things (like) individual drills and some of the other competitive drills and so forth that we’ve done. It’s definitely improving.”

The Arizona State alum can play as soon as this week against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday night. If he is not by then, he must be activated as soon as Tuesday or he will be revert back to injured reserve lost for the season.

All signs point to him being available however as Belichick claims there is improvement every day.

“I’d say each day, as you would expect, a little more improvement and confidence and taking things a little bit further,” Belichick said. “But he’s missed a lot of time. He still has a long way to go. He’s definitely trending in the right direction. We just have to evaluate where it is and what helps the team the most here.”
