LAFC Dominates Once Again at the Banc

It’s no surprise that the Black and Gold play so well at the Banc of California Stadium. If you have ever been to a home game in Los Angeles, you know the atmosphere.

LAFC fans know how to get loud and stay loud throughout the game and Thursday night was no different. LAFC has suffered only one defeat at the Banc and that was last year, in their inaugural season. LAFC started the first of back-to-back games against FC Dallas with a bang.

The first opportunity for LAFC came early. In the ninth minute, Vela had a free kick that hit the top of the crossbar. If it had lowered just a little bit, Vela would have had his 13th goal of the season. Not to worry, there was still time. In the 38th minute, after several other attempts, Eduard Atuesta found Carlos Vela with room for a left-footed curler which Vela loves. LAFC was up 1-0 and rolling. Just a minute later, Diego Rossi had a shot that needed saving and resulted in a corner. LA went into the locker room to up 1-0. Diomande had an opportunity in the 66th minute that went just wide left. VAR changed an offside call to give LAFC a 2-0 lead in the 82nd minute and the Black and Gold had another win and a clean sheet. The goal was created by Adama Diomande.

Paging Diego Rossi?

Diego Rossi has struggled a bit of late. Even on Thursday night, he had several uncharacteristic dribbles. After starting the season out scorching hot, he has cooled off considerably. It was nice to see him get an easy goal at the end of the game last night.

Could that be the goal to get him back on track?

While Vela has been scoring all of the goals for this team, they will eventually need Rossi to give them good minutes. Sometimes players just need to see the ball go in the net to get back on track. Let’s see if Rossi can return to form on Sunday in game two against FC Dallas.

One more thing: Am I the only one who wants to see Adama Diomande start over Christian Ramirez?
