Without further ado, let’s take a look at the top ten running backs from the 2020 NFL season.

No. 10 | Kenyan Drake, Arizona Cardinals

In his first full season with the Cardinals, Drake took a few weeks to get going but still turned in another solid campaign. He rushed for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns through 15 games, including a 69-yard touchdown run in week 6.

No. 9 | James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars

Robinson signed with the Jaguars after going undrafted and earned the starting job when Leonard Fournette was released by the team. He finished fifth at the position with 1,070 rushing yards and scored 1o total touchdowns.

No. 8 | Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders

Despite battling an ankle injury throughout the season, Jacobs rushed for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns. Jacobs has now gone over 1,000 yards rushing in his first two seasons, making his case for a contract extension in the near future.

No. 7 | Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

Chubb missed four games with a knee injury, however, he still turned in 1,067 yards and a career-best 12 touchdowns. His 5.6 yards per carry and 12 carries of 20+ yards both ranked second best at the position. Chubb is entering the final year of his rookie contract and should be in line for a big contract extension.

No. 6 | Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts

The Colts traded up in the draft to select the Wisconsin product in the second round. After starting running back Marlon Mack went down with a torn Achilles in the first game of the season, Taylor took over and never looked back. Through 16 games, he finished third at the position with 1,169 yards, while adding 12 touchdowns and another 300 receiving yards.

No. 5 | David Montgomery, Chicago Bears

Montgomery battled through several different injuries over the course of the season, however, he played in all but one game. Over that span, Montgomery tallied a third-best 1,508 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns, including an 80-yard touchdown run.

No. 4 | Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Through 14 games this season, Jones rushed for 1,104 yards and nine touchdowns on an outstanding 5.5 yards per carry. He also added 47 catches for 355 yards and two touchdowns. The highlight of Jones’ season came in week 13, when he took a carry 77 yards for a game-sealing touchdown.

No. 3 | Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

After getting a contract extension in the offseason, Alvin Kamara dominated in his fourth season. Through 16 games, he rushed for 932 yards and 16 touchdowns, while catching 83 passes for another 756 yards and five touchdowns. On Christmas Day, Kamara’s six-touchdown performance tied the NFL record for most rushing touchdowns in a single game, set by Ernie Nevers in 1921.

No. 2 | Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings

Cook signed a five-year, $63 million extension last offseason and proved he was worth the money this season. In 14 games, Cook rushed for 1,557 yards and 16 touchdowns on 5 yards per carry.

No. 1 | Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry joined elite company this season after rushing for 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns on 5.4 yards per carry. Henry is the first player to win back to back rushing titles since LaDainian Tomlinson (‘06 and ‘07) and is the eighth player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a season. Henry is the best running back in the league and already making a case for the Hall of Fame.
