Korean Baseball DFS

Brandon Braasch | May 4th, 2020

Covid-19 has forced the DFS sites and community to get creative with there contests. There have not been live sports in over a month and people are losing their minds. DFS sites have even gone as far as having contests for reality TV shows. That makes the KBO contest even less crazy.

I know the average person probably knows nothing about Korean baseball. However, it’s just baseball and the best way to win money is when fewer people do research for there lineup. I’ll be helping all the degenerates out there that are willing to take a swing at Korean baseball. Without further ado, here are my top pitchers and batters for Tuesday’s opening day slate.

Pitchers

Nick Kingham ($9,000 DK)

Kingham is formerly of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays. He will be looking to get off to a good start with his new team and league. Strikeouts are one of the best ways to score fantasy points for pitchers. Kingham has shown in the MLB that he has strikeout stuff. He was able to strike out 115 batters in 131.2 innings in his MLB career. The strikeouts were never the problem with Kingham. He struggled with the long ball and walks. Kingham will look to put his struggles in the past and start off his Korean Baseball career with a solid outing.

Odrisamer Despaigne ($7,600)

Despaigne was brought in by the KT Wiz to be the ace. He has plenty of experience and will look to bring that to the Wiz. He spent time with five different MLB teams. In that span, he started 50 games and pitched in 109 games. His career ERA is 5.11 with 224 strikeouts. Look for Despaigne to use his MLB experience and get things started on the right track with the Wiz.

Batters

Byung-Ho Park ($4,900)

Park has been tearing it up in the KBO in his career. He has 286 career home runs in the KBO. In 122 games last season he had 33 home runs and 98 RBIs. You may remember Park from his one season in the MLB. That was back in 2016 with the Minnesota Twins. He showed his power as he hit 12 home runs in 62 games. However, his MLB career was short-lived. Since returning to the KBO he has shown that his power is still there. Park’s ability to hit home runs makes him a great candidate to rack up some fantasy points.

Jung-Hoo Lee ($4,000)

Just like MLB DFS stacking lineups is a very good strategy. All it takes is a bloop and a blast and the fantasy points will start adding up. There’s a reason why Lee was top five in runs scored last year. He was second in the KBO with 193 hits. He was also batting right in front of Park who was the KBO home run leader in 2019. Look for the Lee and Park stack to score a lot of fantasy points on Opening Day.

Aaron Altherr ($5,200)

Altherr spent a lot of time playing in the MLB. He played in 359 games spending most of his time with the Philadelphia Phillies. He showed some good promise in 2017 when he hit 19 home runs, drove in 65 RBIs, and batted .272. However, he decided to head over to the KBO for the 2020 season. Playing time was a big reason for Altherr switching leagues. He’s going to come in with something to prove and try to get his KBO career started off right.

Make sure to keep an eye on the starting lineups. Good luck and go win some money!
