The Boston Bruins youth movement came out strong in their first game against the Nashville Predators, but in an ugly 4-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche reality sunk in that these players still need guidance, no matter how talented they are.
When we had to realize that they’re still in need of guidance and that they have to get over the timidness of playing big-time hockey. The Bruins need to understand that before they can put the weight of the team on the rookies they need to understand the in’s and out’s of playing big-time hockey.
Notes on the Bruins performance so far –
- Tuukka Rask looks like he’s going to have another inconsistent season which is just what the Bruins need.
- Torey Krug returned to action for the first time since breaking his jaw in the preseason, looking somewhat rusty. Hopefully, he’ll be able to shake it off before the next game.
- The B’s shooting accuracy isn’t horrendous, but it isn’t where it needs to be.
- The Bruins need to tighten up on face-offs and in the neutral zone, especially in the absence of Bergeron.
