In the past 24 hours, there have been misleading information surrounding LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, the consensus number one overall pick. Some reports within ESPN indicated Burrow might demand a trade if the Cincinnati Bengals drafted him.
This report spread as multiple outlets such as Chat Sports created topics on the possibility that Burrow would either be drafted and then traded by the Bengals, or the team would look into trading the first-round pick before the draft.
This morning, Adam Schefter cleared the air about the rumor via Twitter.
Jimmy Burrow, the father of the Heisman Trophy winner, told Montreal's TSN 690 radio that his son has no qualms about wearing orange and black if the Bengals take Joe with the NFL’s No. 1 pick.https://t.co/eAWajdWV76

Joe’s father, Jimmy Burrow, said, “He’s excited to even be in that conversation and if the Bengals do draft him, he’s going to be happy.”
Even when the idea was being pushed that Burrow had no interest in playing for Cincinnati, there were no sources from his camp that could confirm the rumor. Despite the noise and the fact that the Bengals have looked into offers from other teams for the number one pick, Cincinnati is still high on drafting Burrow.
This wouldn’t be the first time that a top college quarterback wanted out from a team projected to draft him. In 2004, Eli Manning and his father Archie told the San Diego Chargers that they wouldn’t show up to training camp if drafted by the team. Eli was eventually drafted by the Chargers and then immediately traded to the New York Giants for Phillip Rivers, a 2004 third-round pick, and first and fifth-round picks in 2005.
What could have been another Eli and Archie Manning story has now been squashed. Joe Burrow will happily play for whichever team that drafts him.
