The Philadelphia Eagles decided to bolster their interior defensive line. They already have Fletcher Cox, but Philadelphia wanted to pair him with someone else, as well.

Thus, the Eagles have signed defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a three-year deal worth $39 million.

This is one of the biggest moves that the Eagles have made so far.

This is also a huge loss for the Pittsburgh Steelers upfront. Hargrave might have arguably been their best defensive lineman. It can be assumed that a lot of Pittsburgh fans are not happy with this loss of Javon Hargrave.

He was one of the anchors on the defensive line. Hargrave usually stops the run and he usually gets after the quarterback.

Last season, he played in all 16 games for the Steelers. Javon Hargrave recorded four sacks last season and also forced one fumble. He also recorded 60 tackles. Seven of those tackles were for a loss.

This is another toy for the Philadelphia Eagles defense to play with. Philadelphia plays a 4-3 scheme under Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz.

In Pittsburgh, Hargrave played a 3-4 scheme under Defensive Coordinator Keith Butler.

Javon Hargrave has been getting better in each season none the less. In his career so far in the first four seasons, he has played in a total of 63 games and he has started 52 of them (started in 13 games during the 2019 season).

Hargrave has a total of two pass deflections, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown, 14.5 sacks recorded, 168 tackles recorded, and 22 tackles for a loss.

He is only 27 years old. Javon Hargrave was drafted in the third round (89th overall pick) in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played his college football at North Carolina State University.

The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC East last season. This is one move that will make them the favorites to repeat as NFC East Champions in 2020.

To win Super Bowls, you have to have a quarterback and then get to the quarterback.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will need to find a new nose tackle this offseason. It won’t be easy for them to replace it, but it will be interesting to see none the less.

With this contract, he is now the highest-paid nose tackle in the NFL. Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave are both going to be problems for interior offensive lineman moving forward. Time will tell and we will see how good this duo will be together in the long run.
