It seemed as if the day couldn’t consist of any more massive signings.
Now, Ian Rapoport is reporting that free agent quarterback Nick Foles is in agreement with the Jacksonville Jaguars on a four-year, $88 million contract.

The #Jaguars had Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles as their top target. Per @MikeGarafolo he gets 4 years and $88M. Large.

And, after releasing several players at the end of last week to free up cap space, they make one last move to give Foles on the roster by releasing Blake Bortles, per Rapoport.
The #Jaguars are expected to release QB Blake Bortles when QB Nick Foles’ deal is official and signed, I’m told. Will be a few days. But Bortles will be free.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo adds that Foles can earn up to $102 million, while ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that more than $50 million is guaranteed.

In 2018, Foles appeared in five games due to an injury to starter Carson Wentz, starting all of them. Over those games, he went 4-1 and ultimately helped the team clinch a playoff berth. He completed 141 of his 195 pass attempts for 1,413 yards in the air. He racked up seven passing touchdowns while throwing four interceptions.
As for Bortles, the 2018 season marked the first year since his rookie campaign that he did not start all 16 regular season games. Last season, he started 12 while appearing in 13. He was ultimately benched for veteran journeyman Cody Kessler near the end of the season. Bortles went 3-9 in games he played, completing just 243 of the 403 passes he attempted for 2,718 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
A weight is lifted for the Jaguars and their fan base as they improve at quarterback and finalize a move that had been rumored for a while.
