It’s been a rocky start for the Celtics, but Kyrie Irving has been the heart and soul of their offensive production since shaving off the afro he sported early on.
Irving started hot but kicked it into the next gear at the start of the fourth quarter. His 43 point, 11 assist night was his best outing thus far and propelled the Celtics to a 123-116 victory over the Toronto Raptors.
Irving’s dominant performance was absolutely necessary to pull out the win, with the Raptors being an incredibly talented team on both ends of the floor, as well as the Celtics struggling to find a rhythm on the offensive end throughout this year.
Check out how he single-handedly dismantled Toronto’s top-ranked defense.

Friday night’s victory bumped the Celtics to a 9-6 record and dropped the Raptors to 12-4. After Kawhi Leonard and his team got off to a red-hot start, they lost three straight games. As for the Celtics, who had serious struggles over the course of a five-game road trip last week, have now won two straight Eastern Conference matchups.
They will have another try at taking down the Utah Jazz tomorrow in the second night of a back-to-back for both squads, with the first encounter between the two ending in the Jazz’s favor 123-115. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
