The New England Patriots are once again going into this week’s game light at tight end.
Per the official team website, the Patriots have ruled out both Ryan Izzo and Matt LaCosse for tomorrow’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Izzo has had a concussion while LaCosse is dealing with a knee injury that have kept them both sidelined now for two weeks.
This leaves the undefeated Patriots with Benjamin Watson and Eric Tomlinson as their only options at the position albeit not the worst-case scenario.
In addition, starting wide receiver Julian Edelman, safety Patrick Chung, and guard Shaq Mason are all questionable to take the field Sunday.
Edelman has been playing through a chest injury and it is not likely that he will miss the game.
Mason fresh off his restructured contract, is a new name on the injury report with an ankle issue. It has not proved to be debilitating enough to keep him from taking the field opposite Myles Garrett and the rest of the Brown’s defensive line.
Chung who has had trouble with both his heel and chest, has been kept out of the recent games because of these ailments. His status is up in the air at this point on whether he will play Sunday. Bet against it.
Wide receiver Gunner Olszewski is questionable with ankle and hamstring injuries while Burkhead continues to deal with his foot injury.
Olszewski is the one most likely to suit up between the two.
