With the 2021 NFL Draft over and the schedule officially being released, it’s time for my third annual 32 part series where the top three questions will be posed for each NFL team. Here are those three questions for the Minnesota Vikings.

What will Justin Jefferson do for an Encore?
One of last season’s breakout rookies was Jefferson. The pressure was high as he would be tasked with filling the void left by Stefon Diggs being in Buffalo with the Bills. Jefferson burst onto the scene in his debut season. He tallied 1,400 yards receiving on 88 receptions and accounted for seven touchdowns. Numbers good enough, if not for the numbers Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert compiled, that Jefferson would’ve easily walked away with the Offensive Rookie of the Year hardware. Combined with Adam Thielen‘s 14 touchdowns and 925 receiving yards, Kirk Cousins once again eclipsed the 4,000-yard passing plateau. He ended the season with a total of 4,265 and 35 touchdown passes, but most weeks the Vikings were either in a shootout or playing from behind.

How will Dalvin Cook Follow up his Best Season?
The Vikings running back, who has had issues staying healthy throughout his career, started 14 games. He rushed over 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns, both career highs. Cook earned his second straight Pro Bowl selection. For most of the season, he was neck and neck with Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry for the NFL lead in both yards and touchdowns until Henry pulled away in the waning weeks of the season.
Will the New-Look Defense be able to Keep them in Games?
The secondary for the Vikings was susceptible to giving up big plays. That led to a revamping. The team signed eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Patrick Peterson, the former Arizona Cardinal cornerback. They also added former Kansas City Chiefs corner Bashaud Breeland and Dallas Cowboys safety Xavier Woods. The front office invested quite a bit of their salary cap space defensively. The secondary will also be aided by the front seven. The Vikings added veteran defensive tackles Sheldon Richardson and Dalvin Tomlinson. The defense shouldn’t be the team’s weak link this season, they could be one of the best units in the NFC. The fact that they have two, with the potential for a third new signal caller in their division alone, could only help.
