With the 2021 NFL Draft over and the schedule officially being released, it’s time for my third annual 32 part series where the top three questions will be posed for each NFL team. Here are those three questions for the Denver Broncos.

Is Drew Lock Still the Guy?
The Broncos have been looking for their franchise quarterback since John Elway took over as team president, with the exception of Peyton Manning. Every season begins with them believing that Trevor Siemian or Brock Osweiler is the guy. The team made a move and added Teddy Bridgewater, after he became expendable in Carolina, to their quarterback room. They are also interested in disgruntled Green Bay signal-caller Aaron Rodgers, should the Packers decide to trade their franchise quarterback and reigning MVP.

Will Phillip Lindsay be Missed?
It’s hard to imagine that a backfield that has Melvin Gordon in it, is in too bad of shape. But the loss of a back like Lindsay, who is now in Houston with the Texans, may be too much to overcome. Lindsay’s first two seasons in Denver after going undrafted out of college, he was a 1,000 yard rusher, and he tallied a total of 16 touchdowns on the ground. He was a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie season. Last season he battled injuries.
Gordon’s first season in Mile High City after spending his first five seasons in the NFL with the Chargers, saw him finish just 14 yards shy of 1,000 on the ground. He found the end zone nine times. The Broncos are banking on second round draft pick Javonte Williams, out of North Carolina will fill the void left by Lindsay.
Will the Defense Stay Healthy and Improve?
The defensive leader for the Broncos and arguably the team leader period, linebacker Von Miller missed all of last season. After his off field issues are behind him, the eight-time Pro Bowler is gearing up to prove at 33, that he is still the player he has always been.
A year after the team concentrated mostly on offense in the draft, they concentrated a majority of this year’s picks on the defensive side of the ball. None of those picks were bigger than second generation cornerback from Alabama, Patrick Surtain II who the Broncos selected No. 9 overall. Surtain’s father was a three-time Pro Bowl selection, who played eleven seasons in the NFL for the Dolphins and Chiefs. The secondary will be upgraded tremendously if Surtain comes in playing like he did at Alabama.
