With the 2021 NFL Draft over and the schedule officially being released, it’s time for my third annual 32 part series where the top three questions will be posed for each NFL team. Here are those three questions for the Dallas Cowboys.

Can Dak Prescott Bounce Back?
Prescott was embattled in contract extension negotiations leading into last season to no avail. However, showed up to play. Unfortunately for Prescott and the Cowboys, the franchise quarterback suffered a devastating compound ankle fracture on a scramble against the New York Giants in Week 5. The injury, to those who watched it live brought back visions of Joe Theismann and Alex Smith‘s career-ending and career-threatening injuries respectively.
Some believed he may never make it back on the field. Even more, thought his chance at a big-money long-term contract vanished as he was taken off the field. However, after two surgeries, Prescott says he’s good to go, which is great news for both sides. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones rewarded his quarterback with a four-year $160 million contract that included a signing bonus of $66 million, and $126 million guaranteed.

What About Zeke?
Running back Ezekiel Elliott had a rather pedestrian season in 2020. He failed to reach the 1,000 yard rushing mark for just the second time in his career, the first was when he missed six games in 2017. While it didn’t help his case that the Cowboys were playing from behind more often than not, eliminating Elliott’s carries. However, Elliott has the opportunity to remind the league that he still belongs in the conversation among the elite running backs this season. The good news for Cowboy fans and fantasy football owners alike is that early reports from OTA’s are that Elliott is dominating the competition. It’s obvious he heard the naysayers and is using that chip on his shoulder as motivation.
Can the Defense Keep them in Games?
Even prior to Dak getting injured, the Dallas defense had trouble limiting big plays and keeping opposing offenses from putting points on the board. The offense was playing from behind seemingly every week. The team used eight draft picks on the defensive side of the ball, including Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons with the 12th overall pick. The team also hired former Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn as their new defensive coordinator, with hopes the unit won’t be a liability.

I’ve been a fan yours and especially of these pieces for a long time, I’ve read every one. They make a time of year without football bearable They all are pretty accurate, keep do what you’re doing. I read every piece in this series.
