With the 2021 NFL Draft over and the schedule officially being released, it’s time for my third annual 32 part series where the top three questions will be posed for each NFL team. Here are those three questions for the Buffalo Bills.

The Division is Theirs to Lose?
The short answer is yes. The way this team performed last season was even better than anyone expected. They ended their own drought of 20 plus years between division titles, as well as the New England Patriots’ stranglehold on the AFC East. Josh Allen proved all neigh-sayers wrong, between his development from the prior season. The addition of Stefon Diggs which gave him a formidable No. 1 target.
The duo and company will look to continue to dominate opposing defenses week in and week out. In the offseason, the Bills added veteran Emmanuel Sanders to their receiving core of Diggs, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis. Allen threw for over 4,500 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2020. He led his team to 13 regular-season wins in 16 chances, but the team fell short against the defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Was the Defense a One Hit Wonder?
As lights out as the offense was a season ago, the defense was just as good. The unit was among the top 10 in the NFL. They went toe to toe with some of the NFL’s high-powered offenses, and minus a last-second hail mary from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins, they held their own on a weekly basis. Even when Allen and the offense started a game on the slow side, the defense kept the team in the game until the offense got it going. The unit from last season is pretty much fully intact and the familiarity and cohesiveness should have Buffalo among the league’s best defensively.
Will the Running Game be More Effective?
Devin Singletary and rookie running back Zack Moss combined for over 1,000 yards on the ground, but just six touchdowns. Meanwhile, Allen had over 400 yards and eight touchdowns himself. However, for a mobile quarterback to survive he needs a running game that opposing defenses must account for if Allen will continue to be successful. The team didn’t make any adjustments to the backfield in the offseason which proves the team and head coach Sean McDermott are confident in Moss and Singletary. If they can combine for roughly 500 more yards, that would make the Bills’ offense that much potent.
