After losing three consecutive games, the Miami Heat bounced back with a win against the Golden State Warriors. It wasn’t easy either. Leading by 19 at the half, the Heat watched the Warriors pull within four multiple times in the third period. However, the Heat pulled away in the fourth period to come out victorious. Miami is now 35-18 for the season.
Here are my takeaways from Monday’s game against the Warriors.
The Butler Returns
Jimmy Butler returned to the Heat lineup after missing the last two games. Butler was immediately impactful recording eight points, four rebounds, and four assists in the first eight minutes. Whenever the Warriors made a run, he made timely baskets to keep the Heat ahead.
Butler finished the night with 21 points, five assists, nine rebounds, and four steals. He did it all on Monday, including recruiting his former teammate Joel Embiid on Instagram.

Crowder’s Impact
Jae Crowder has been fitting in very well with the Heat so far. In his first game, he had 18 points and 11 rebounds. He was even better on Monday, recording 16 points and 4 rebounds in the first half. What’s even more impressive is his three-point shooting. He’s gone from shooting 29 percent with Memphis to making 10 of 13 with the Heat.
Jae Crowder was RIDICULOUS in the 2ndQ.

16pts (in under 6 mins), 3-of-4 from , a perfect 5-of-5 from the stripe and oh yeah 6rebs. pic.twitter.com/f92LY8h924
Crowder closed with 21 points and 8 rebounds.
KO’s Career Night
With Miami struggling the past three games, the Heat went with an undersized starting lineup on Monday. The team moved Derrick Jones Jr to the power forward spot, moving Kelly Olynyk back in his reserve role. Olynyk played very well in his role as a facilitator off the bench. He kept making the right passes to teammates for the open looks.
Olynyk ended the night with 12 points and a career-high 11 assists.
Next up: The Utah Jazz on Wednesday. Game tips off at 9pm ET.
