Heat Get Back On Track After Win Versus Raptors

Miami Heat Heating Up

It appears that the Miami Heat are finally starting to click. After beating the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, Miami has won four straight games and the team’s offense looked as good as it has been this season. There was good ball and player movement. Miami’s defense also gave Toronto trouble.

With the win, Miami is now 15-17 for the season. They are only one game back from the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference standings.

Here are my takeaways from Wednesday’s 116-108 victory over Toronto.

Jimmy Butler does it all

The Butler did it. He has shown he will do anything the team asks. It all starts with him, and he did it all on Wednesday. Butler was a threat on both ends of the floor. He had the three-point shooting going, making three shots from beyond the arc. In the fourth quarter, Butler took over the game, scoring 10 of his 27 in the final period.

Butler finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists

Bam crashes the boards

The Raptors started the game by playing small with Pascal Siakim playing the center spot. With Toronto going small, Bam Adebayo took advantage with his size, crashing the boards on the offensive end. In the first half, Bam grabbed 10 rebounds, with five of them being on the offensive end. He created multiple scoring opportunities for the team with his rebounding assault.

Adebayo finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists

Dragic returns

Heat guard Goran Dragic made his return from a nine-game absence with a sprained left ankle. He scored his first bucket on a fast break and looked mostly like himself in the first half. By halftime, he had 13 points. Miami truly missed the calming presence he provides on the offensive end. Having another ball handler on the floor eases the scoring burden for Butler.

Dragic finished the game with 15 points.
