Has the Brock Holt Era in Boston Ended?

With the end of the regular season finally over, has Brock Holt played his last game in a Red Sox uniform?

With his free agency looming, and the rumors of a wild offseason for the overspending Red Sox, fans are concerned about the future of their utility man. Brock Holt has been a fan-favorite since his arrival in 2013.

While his numbers were never superstar caliber, he has memories of greatness that will be passed down like folklore. Moments such as his cycle in the 16-1 pounding of the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium during the ALDS last October (becoming the first player to do so in MLB postseason history).

On top of that, his countless clubhouse videos that become trending on twitter. Or the countless acts of kindness to every fan he meets, as well as his efforts on speaking out about mental health just two years ago.

His career .271 average, 23 homers, and 206 RBI will not command $30 million per year, but he is still a commodity on the free-agent market. As fans are saying their unwarranted goodbyes, he took to his Instagram account this week to address the situation.

The two time world series champion has played every position besides catcher during his tenure, while also giving away all 162 bats after the final home game in September. Even becoming Jimmy Fund captain in 2015.

As Holt will continue on with his career, one thing is for sure, Boston will miss him, and he will miss Boston.
