Harvard, despite digging itself out of a 15-point halftime deficit, was unable to get it done down the stretch, resulting in a 73-69 loss to Manhattan on Saturday.

After a Chris Lewis layup sliced the Crimson’s deficit to 23-20 with 6:35 remaining in the first half, the Jaspers answered with a 17-2 run – capped by a Rich Williams 3-pointer with 1:17 to go in the opening frame.
In the process, Harvard went 4:53 without netting a single point.
However, the Crimson would battle back and would find themselves with the lead, 62-59, with 4:12 left to play after a Rio Haskett trey.
Down 70-69 with 23 ticks remaining, Harvard’s Corey Johnson came up empty on a jumper, which forced the Crimson’s hand to foul and the Jaspers’ Zavier Turner connected on one at the line to make it at two-point game, 71-69.
Once again, the Crimson had the change to either take the lead or knot the score up, but Bryce Aiken came fanned on a layup with eight second to go. Two Zane Waterman free throws sealed the Manhattan win.
Seth Towns led Harvard with 17 points and five boards.
Next up for the Crimson is the Wooden Legacy when they will face No. 21 St. Mary’s (4-0) on Thursday at 4 p.m.
