The Green Bay Packers travel to Arrowhead Stadium as they gear up to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a not-to-miss game.
Week 8 gives us a highly anticipated game on the schedule between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Most fans and critics were expecting to see a quarterback showdown between Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, but now they will be waiting to see how the Chiefs will operate without Patrick Mahomes. Veteran quarterback Matt Moore will most likely get the nod to start the game for the Chiefs with Mahomes out.
With Moore at the helm, the Chiefs are expected to run more running plays than passing. Regardless of passing or running plays, the Chiefs have a lot of offensive weapons to choose from in the form of Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins, Damien Williams, Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, and Tyreek Hill.
Will Andy Reid be able to tailor the offense built around Mahomes to the talents Moore brings to the table?
We’ll know for certain by the end of the game.
The defense of the Chiefs will have something to prove as well. They will need to show the NFL world that their level of play against the Broncos’ offense in Week 7 wasn’t an anomaly.
The Packers are coming into Arrowhead 6-1 on the season with Aaron Rodgers simply being who Aaron Rodgers is. Rolling into Week 8 with an impressive five-touchdown passing game against the Oakland Raiders, Rodgers is having a stellar season so far. Having thrown for 2019 yards and 13 touchdowns with only two interceptions so far in the season, he and the Packers are on a roll.
The Packers’ defense has the opportunity to take advantage of a Chiefs offense that hasn’t committed fully to bringing more of their running game to the table. So far this season, the defense has had eight interceptions and forced seven fumbles on top of generating 18 sacks. The game against the Chiefs offers the chance to show they can stop the running game.
If the Packers pull off a win at Arrowhead, will the victory still be as sweet as it would be if Mahomes was at the helm for the Chiefs? One might consider a win is a win in any record book, but there will always be a little asterisk in the back of everyone’s mind pointing out that the Chiefs were without their star quarterback. Rodgers and the Packers will still gladly accept victory no matter what.
